It's 1p.m. and we're after the lunch. We going to Ariana's parents, and we going on trip which we planned yesterday. We'll go through the whole city Edinburgh - New Town and Old Town. There are many sights here. I can't wait, at least know her parents more. We start in Old Town. We going to see the cathedral saint Giles.
Cathedral Saint Giles: A large medieval building in the Gothic style - A Tabernacle of Presbyterians, where Johny Knox used to go to pray.
The Royal Mile ends with a Royal palace - Holyroodhouse
There's also a university. This is a neo-gothic, two - tower New Dormitory under the castle.And baroque Old Dormitory on the south side Nicolson Street. Eastern horizon lines Holyrood Park, it's the mythical seat of the King Arthur.
NEW TOWN
The northern part of the city of Edinburgh forms hillock Claton Hill with monument and astronomical observatory. Southern border forms busy Princess Street with park and four monuments. The highest monument is neo- gothic tower with statue writers Walter Scott. The dominant feature of the New Town is hotel tower building Balmoral on corner Princess Street and stone bridge Northbridge.

Alex: well let's resume. History of Edinburgh: Traces of settlement are attributed to 8500 BC. In mesolith. Edinburgh was founded in the 1st century by the Romans. They built a military camp here. From 1907 to 1997, the Scottish Parliament did not meet here. In the second half of the 18th century, this city became the center of the Enlightenment.
Enough history there are still other monuments. For example: Edinburgh Castle- stands on a rock 135 meters high. It was founded in the 11th-12th centuries.
