Axel
"Fuck!"
"You've been saying that for the past one hour dude." Carter stated, not moving his eyes from the video game he was playing. "Will you quit the crap and tell me what's wrong?"
I stopped pacing, took a long breath to calm myself down, grabbing my hair, tugging at the roots painfully.
I was going out of my mind. That girl was bad news for me. Well, for starters, she stared at me like I was the only man living on the planet.
"This is going to be harder than I thought." I said it out loud, catching Carter's attention.
"What are you on about, Ax?"
"Carrying out the plan. The girl is not exactly what we had in mind." I sighed, waiting for him to respond but it seemed as though his only concern at the moment was shooting lizards through the screen.
"Tu cazzo, I'm talking to you." I snapped at Carter, trying to get his attention. This was more important.
He sighed, putting down his control and turning towards me. "You're not thinking straight right now .. "
"Okay, mind telling me why?" I urged him to complete his sentence.
"Because you're missing action in bed."
I glared at him. "Vai a farti fottere."
"Tell you what. Let's forget I said that and focus on the mission, yeah?"
"Right. So, did you get any information out of your girlfriend?"
He rolled his eyes. "She's not my girlfriend."
"Just answer the damn question." I was tired and this guy was testing my patience.
"Actually, she didn't know shit ab-"
"Cagna stupida."
"Dude, easy on the insults." He wasn't ecstatic about me calling his girl names.
Fucking perfect.
"You don't even know what that means." I mumbled under my breath, making my way towards the front door. I was this close to breaking something.
"You're the one who taught me all the good words. Or have you forgotten?" He was looking smug as fuck and I'd do anything to get that stupid look off his face.
It was one of these times I regretted teaching this piece of shit all the insults spoken in my mother tongue.
"I'm going home."
"Try not to kill anyone on the way, babe." He attempted to sound as feminine as his vocal chords would allow.
"No promises." With that I stepped into his driveway, climbing into my coal black Ford mustang. Its condition wasn't ideal, but I had to work with what I had. Having to pay for college tuition and a hundred other bills on top of that had forced me to survive on one meal per day.
A new car was out of the question.
I drove through the dark and empty streets, owing to the fact that it was one in the morning. We had left the carnival after the little "incident" at the photo booth. Carter and I came back to his place after dropping his girlfriend off, our intention was to map out a plan for my next move. But I couldn't get the memory of the crying girl out of my mind. The way her piercing blue eyes had widened after she looked at me. I had panicked, thinking she'd recognized me though I had no idea how she would, we'd never met before. I had calmed down soon after I realised she didn't know me.
