Who Am I? ((Kaneki Ken x reader))

Chapter 11

(Gomen for the late chapter~ I'll make it up to u guys with a faster, longer one in a few days! I hope u enjoy this one, even though it is kinda short ^^) 

You intertwined your fingers with his and gave him a relieved smile. "You didn't do anything wrong. Don't feel bad." You whispered, gazing up into his half kakugan eyes. 

Kaneki held you tighter, but suddenly let go. His head snapped in the direction of the exit. Someone was there. Although it was a hostile presence, it was familiar. 

Kaneki stood up and his Kagune snaked out from his lower back. You held a defensive stance and activated both your Kakugan and Kagune too. 

It was Ayato. 

"Ayato? What the hell do you want?" You questioned him, unamused. When you were captured by Yamori, he made no attempts to save you. He probably planned it all out. He was lying to you the whole time. 

The blue-haired male held a guilty look on his face, but shook it away. You raised your eyebrows and scoffed. The atmosphere was tense and uncomfortable. 

"(y/n)... I have to tell you something. Come wi-" 

You cut Ayato off and pinched the bridge of your nose, stressed. 

"Save it for later, bastard. You didn't save me, but Kaneki did." 

Ayato stayed silent at the doorway. Kaneki put a hand on your shoulder and gently pulled you back.

 "I'll take care of this." He murmured, almost inaudibly. 

"Just promise me you won't get hurt." You firmly replied.

Kaneki nodded and proceeded to attack. Your eyes were glued to Kaneki's swift movements and his face, void of emotion. 

You felt the need to take revenge for what Ayato had done to you. You treated him as a friend, he treated you the same. Why didn't he say anything against kidnapping you? What was so sudden in his life that changed his personality? 

You stood up and sprinted to Kaneki's side. Your kagune was prepared to fight and so were you.  Screw Ayato. He's an enemy now.  

"(Y/N) PLEASE, JUST LISTEN TO ME. I WANTED TO TELL YOU-" 

This time Kaneki cut him off. 

"Shut up." 

Heh, he took the words right out of your mouth. 

The 2 of you made several accurate strikes at Ayato, knocking him down. Instead of killing him, Kaneki left him there to suffer alone. It seemed you had over-used your strength. You felt weak to your knees and limped to the exit, leaning on a wall along the way.

Ayato saw this as a chance and had no intention of letting go of it. 

In a matter of seconds, he had harshly grabbed you by the wrist and pulled you towards him. Kaneki stopped walking and turned around, unamused. 

You could defend yourself. You were no longer a weak girl who depended on others.
