Though, He is King yet He decided to take the form of a servant for the sake of the entire world. This Man, Jesus is beautiful. His character is attractive. There is no flaw in Him. Let us dive in together into the ocean of His Humility. Pick your Bible or google and follow along with me. Right now, this is 12:53 am of Thursday and I am writing this (author). To get much out of this chapter, I'd like you to follow me through. Much pain has been put into this chapter for the benefit of the reader, which is you. So let us go together. Take my hand and I'll take yours.

In the last chapter (prologue), we spoke about how Jesus gave up His Divine privileges in order to bring us to Himself. Let us see these bible verses (read Philippians 2:5-11). Jesus never thought once to ever be equal with His Father, while He was in Heaven, He subjected Himself to the authority of His Father. He is God as well, but He chose to be led by His Father. This is one of the reasons why God, the Father is pleased with His Son. "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." (Matthew 3:17). Jesus made Himself of no reputation, he chose not to be born into a rich family. He chose to be raised in Nazareth. "Can anything good come out of Nazareth." (John 1:46). One of Jesus' disciples knew that nothing good ever came out of Nazareth. So the King of kings now lives in nothingness. The Lord of Heaven now has no place to lay His head on the earth.  "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head." (Matthew 8:20). Pride kills, but Humility heals. Behold, Adam, and Eve, pride made them eat of the fruit. The serpent poisoned their hearts with his pride. This was the virus that drove Lucifer out of Heaven, and the virus was transferred to Adam and Eve which has also been transferred to every human race. It spreads. But Humility came to our rescue. Not only did Jesus give up Heaven's joy for earth's pain, but He also obeyed God to the point of dying on the cross. The cross carries, not only, physical pain but also spiritual pain. The nails that pierced through the bones of Jesus could be endured, the scourging on his body was tolerable, but the turning away of His Father because of the greatness of the sin upon Himself, was the final strike. There's no point living again when your Heavenly Father forsakes you to die while the world mocks. "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?" (Matthew 27:46)

Jesus did not come to announce that He is King so that people can worship and serve Him. No! He came to serve. Do you know something interesting: Jesus washed His disciple's feet. I will say it again:  Jesus went on His knees why His disciples were seated, He began to wash and dry their feet. (see John 13:1-16). Humility is looking out for the interest of other people and not only our own. It is praying for the good of others. It is giving to others so that they can become comfortable. Our Lord Jesus flipped the table on society and His followers. He told them that the path to greatness is to serve others. He teaches that the way up is down. The lower we go, the higher we rise. This is WOW!!! (read Mark 10:43-45). True Humility calls for the loss of self-love, if you love yourself too much, you cannot die for another person. DIE? I feel like dying for others is the greatest proof of love for someone and surely, the greatest proof of loss of self. "Greater love has no one than this than to lay down one's life for his friends." (John 15:13).  What do you think? (comment below or leave a message (DM) for the author).
