COME

After Jesus did a miracle with the bread and the fishes, He sent His disciples away to the other side of the sea, and then after they left, He sent the large crowd away with a full belly and strength for the journey ahead of them. After everyone went away, Jesus was left alone. He said to His unseen yet relevant Friend. "Holy Spirit, take me to My Father." He walked a few steps up the mountain. Upon arrival, He went on His knees and began to pour His heart in prayer to God, His Father. Tears flowed down His cheek. He spoke a few words and allowed the sound of the fireflies to fill his ears. He was focused, not once did His physical body move because the physical hold back the ascension of the heart.

"Huh!" Jesus raised His head and replied to the voice that only He can hear "My disciples?" Jesus stood up and turned towards the sea and saw the boat His disciples took to cross over to the land of Gennesaret, being tossed back and forth by the waves. Jesus smiled when He saw this. He lifted His head to the sky with His face bright with delight. "Thank you, Father, for the opportunity to strengthen Peter." He closed His eyes and received the reply of His Father. And after His heart had received the speaking of His Dad, He started down the mountain.

THE DISCIPLES

"Did you see that?" Andrew said while rowing the boat with the paddle.

Thomas said, "That was so unbelievable. How could five loaves of bread and two fishes, just....." Thomas was one of the disciples chosen to distribute the bread to the crowd. He looked into the basket and saw the bread adding to itself. "I still can't wrap my head around it."

"When we meet the Master in Gennesaret, let's ask Him to teach us. I want to replenish my cup of wine without spending my money on buying new wine." Peter said. He acted as the leader among them He told Judas to assist Andrew in rowing the boat and did not offer himself as a replacement in case one is tired, he simply elected Matthew.

John stood up to get a better view of the mountain where Jesus sat to teach the crowd, "And to think of it, how is the Master going to cross over the sea, He has no bo..." Before he finished the sentence, a strong Eastwind blew almost knocking him off into the water. In about two minutes, the wind grew and started the waves. Andrew and Judas lost their grip on the paddle and it fell into the sea, never to be retrieved. "Andrew! Where is your paddle?"

"I lost it!"

"So did I!" Judas exclaimed, "We are going to die! Where is Jesus when you need Him!"

"I see someone." James pointed. Everyone laid their eyes on the scary-looking man walking on the water towards them. He robe shone brightly. His face could not be seen because the reflection of the light blocked His eyes. Then a lightning stroke behind Him and James screamed immediately. "It is a ghost. A ghost! We are dead!"

The Man spoke so calmly. "Be of good cheer! It is I, Jesus. Do not be afraid." He was already six feet away from them.

Thomas thought. This cannot be Jesus.  But His thinking failed him when his eyes saw the familiar smile of his Master.

All the disciples were still shaking in fear. None could say anything. From bread and fish to ghost legs and screaming sea. This was all too much for the disciples to mentally process.

Peter stammered, "Lord.... if .....it is You, command..... me to come to You on the water."

Jesus grew silent for about five seconds and then said. "COME."

Hello Reader, meditate on the bolded word above. This word carries so much power. It is simple but powerful. And can you create an image in my mind or heart? Can you see Jesus standing and stretching His hands towards you, with a smile on His face, saying "COME." I have just found the way to end depression: COME TO JESUS.  I know the way to stay free from Pornography: COME TO JESUS. I know the way of doing the impossible: COME TO JESUS. What we do in the time of failure and time of victory is to COME to Jesus continually.

Jesus is saying right now. "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. My Yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30
