edward dropped bella to her feet as calliope hopped off of seth's back, eyes glued to the pile of burning newborns.
her eyes peeled away from the bodies as she heard the quiet whimpers of uncomfortable girls.
calliope faced the source of the noise and found a short, paled faces girl with long brown waves. the other looked older than both the pale girl and calliope, maybe about eighteen. she had black straight hair, a few strands dyed a washed out pink with a fringe going across her eyebrows.
but the most obvious feature of both were their blood red eyes.
being the nature she was, calliope approached the two with a shy smile.
"hi. i'm calliope" the older girl, despite the obvious fear, worry and unease she had, she smiled at calliope.
"i'm thalia and this is bree" she introduced.
the wolves all headed back to their area after jacob had gotten injured from saving leah clearwater from the last newborn. calliope gave seth's head a little scratch before he ran after his pack.
calliope decided it would be best for her to stay behind the cullens, keeping the two vampires company as they waited for someone to arrive.
soon, four figures stood before the coven, pushing their hoods from their heads revealing their pale skin and matching red eyes.
"impressive, i've never seen a coven escape an assault of this magnitude stay intact" the only female among the group, jane stated. her hair was a platinum blonde, tied back in a tight bun and her face was almost emotionless, not particularly interested in this situation.
"we were lucky" carlisle replied which made the blonde scoff.
"i doubt that"
"it appears we missed an entertaining fight" another spoke, a boy with a brown mop of hair swept in front of his forehead, alec.
"yes, its not often we're rendered unnecessary" jane added.
"if you'd arrived a half hour ago, you would have fulfilled your purpose" edward answered as he held bella close to him
"pity" the blonde said with no care until her eyes landed on the two newborns that stood beside calliope, eyes glancing around and bodies unable to stay still.
