Unbothered. I think that should cover what i'm currently feeling at this moment. My interview has been moved twice. That's two sets of preparations and panic attacks. All because they are moving offices kmt. Anyway now that i've gotten to the unbothered stage, it means i've gone way beyond preparing for this and i'm just going to wing it tomorrow. The interview is at 2p.m should be fun.
LIvid. That's how i feel now. I got to my interview at 1p.m, trying to show punctuality and all of that and guess who was told to leave and come back at a later date because the interviewer has a meeting and doesn't know when they'll return. So now, instead of punctuality i've shown stubbornness because i refused to leave until the said person comes back.
It's 4p.m now, i've been sitting in someone's cubicle space for 3 hours now with no hope for the interview. On the bright side, everyone i've met today have shockingly been very nice and welcoming. My awkwardness didn't turn up it's ugly head and make me stutter. So it's not been a complete waste of time. 4:50 and he finally shows up, moment of truth.
"Hi, my name is Danny. You're Rahinna right? Sorry about the delay, the meeting was unplanned but i had to show up to it. Without wasting further time, can i see your portfolio." he rushed out. I should have connected to my hotspot before coming in here, now im fumbling with my phone trying to do the connection while he waits, good start Rahinna. I finally get it loaded and turn the laptop to him.
"These are good but like i told Ryan before it's not at the level we need. So if you're willing to join us at intern level that'd be okay." "How much is the pay for an intern" i asked. "150 dollars". I had hit the first roadblock, that's not even up to half of what i was expecting(i had done research and asked around). "I live about 3 hours away from here and i'll have to transport myself to work everyday, 120 pounds won't even cover my transportation for a month."
"You mentioned you live in London, i also lived there for a while. It's not as bad as you're making it out to be. Besides this is the highest we've ever paid an intern you can ask, you're actually lucky" he replied. "This price won't work for me, thank you for your time". I replied getting up to leave. I ought to slap Ryan when i see him for making me come all the way here and spend several nights preparing for this when he new it was an entry level job and didn't tell me.
"Hello daddy"
"Yes i'm done. I just left, I'm in the car. No, i don't think i want to take it. the pay is too low and -----"
"If it's the pay that's not a problem. I work around here to and the driver takes me to work everyday. He can always drop you off after he drops me off. Don't think about the money, it's your first job. Sometimes it's all about the experience, if you think you'd learn there then I'd take you to work and keep your allowance coming, is that alright?"
"Yes sa" Like i have a choice *rme*
"Alright, see you at home"
"Bye"
Sigh, i guess i have to take the job now. That's if the call back after the way i left.
