(Y/n) POV

"Hello? I'm here to help!" You called into the burning building.

"Help!" Someone cried from a short ways away. You flew towards the sound, pulling your hoodie up over your mouth.

"Hello? Where are you? Please yell again so that I can find you!" You call out through the fabric of your hoodie. (Author-chan: actually it's Hawks's lol.)

You followed the cries for help deeper and deeper into the burning maze. Soon, you came to a room
fill of smoke. The yells seemed to be coming from there, so you took a step.

Hawks POV

Hawks arrived at the scene of the explosion. He looked around for you frantically, but stopped when he noticed Dabi.

"DABI! WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO?" Hawk's screamed.

"What're you yelling about, you overgrown chicken? Isn't it a little obvious? I blew up a building." Dabi replied, somehow confused.

"(Y/n)! WHERE DID THEY GO?" Hawks kept yelling, getting hysterical.

"Jeez, if you wanted to know, you should've said something! They flew inside, some dumb urge to save people or something." Dabi responded, feigning innocence.

"Dang it. Dang it!" Hawks yelled, rushing towards the building.

(Y/n) POV

The second you took a step into the smoke filled room, the floor gave way. You fell for a second, before remembering that you have wings! Quickly spreading them, you felt a jolt as the air hit them, making your landing soft.

"Help!" A group of voices cried out.

"I'm coming! Keep yelling so I know where you are!" You shout back, barely keeping yourself from coughing.

As you continue to follow the cries for help, the smoke grows thicker, and the heat becomes nearly unbearable. You come to a door, and hear shouts from behind it. You open the door, and there's a group of kids, sitting in a bathtub with soaking wet clothes, wet rags covering their noses. Several are straight up sobbing.

"Hey kids! What's up?" You say, seeming cheerful so as not to alarm them. Best not to get any more of them crying.

"H-hey. Are you a hero?" One of the kids, a young girls responds shyly.

"You bet I am! And I'm here to get you out of this icky smoke!" You say, playing the big sibling style attitude.

"Our mommy's and daddy's told us to fill the tub, and stay in the bathroom. Have you seen them? Are they okay?" Another young one asks rapidly.

"Wow, sounds like your mommy's and daddy's are smart! Do your parents wear uniforms?" You ask, remembering a group or adults with worried faces, all wearing waiter type uniforms.

"Yes! They own a restaurant! Does that mean you've seen them?" The little boy asks with shining eyes.

"Sure have! They yelled at the heroes who wouldn't let them come get you guys!" You say, hoping this was true.

You talk for a few more seconds, until more smoke begins to waft in through the crack under the door.

"Alright kids! Time to get on my back!" You say, gesturing for the smallest ones to get on first. You repress another coughing fit. "Now kiddos, keep holding those rags over your mouth and nose."

You quickly fly outside, using your singing to tell where to go.

Hawks POV

He was running around, restless, because the other pros wouldn't let him go into the building. He comforted a group of parents whose kids where trapped inside. He helped take care of some burns. He told stories to a group of younger kids. He did whatever he could to keep his mind off you.

About a half an hour after (Y/n) had supposedly entered the building, (which had been a half hour of dealing with Dabi before chasing him off) someone shouted, "Look! It's Scales!"

Hawks turned his head so fast he thought he'd given himself whiplash. Sure enough, it was them, flying out of a broken window, carrying three small children on your back. Them, wearing a smoke damaged, burned sweatshirt. WAIT A SEC, THAT'S MY SECOND FAVORITE SWEATSHIRT!

He told himself now wasn't the time. They landed, somewhat roughly, and the kids slid off (Y/n)'s back and ran towards the parents he had been comforting earlier. He however, ran towards (Y/n). They were on the ground, coughing like crazy.

       (Y/n) POV

"Hey! Hey, are you good (Y/n)?" Hawks asked when he reached you.

"I'm fine." You said, even as your body was spasming from the fit. You began to stand.

"Where the hell do you think you're going?" Hawks asked, shocked that you could even stand.

"Um, back in? There's more kids." You respond, coughing.

"Um, no! I don't think so! I don't want to lose my best friend!" He exclaimed, grabbing your arms.

"Oh calm down you overgrown chicken! I'll be fine, but those kids won't if they're in there for much longer." You say, annoyed.

"WHAT IS IT WITH EVERYONE CALLING ME-HEY WHERE THE HELL DID YOU GO? DAMN." He realized you had ticked him off as a distraction, as he noticed you diving into the same broken window you left from.

Time skip (brought to you by asolutely nothing)

After returning the last few kids to their family's you were about to walk away when a little girl grabbed your sleeve.

"C-can you p-please save our kittens and their mommy? Can you save them Mr./Mrs./something Hero?" She asked, tears in her eyes.

You had a huge soft spot for cats, and that adorable face. You turned and saw Hawks running towards you. You knew he was mad about you giving him the slip, so if you where going to save the cats it was now or never.

"Sure kiddo! Where are they?" You say with a cheeky grin, kneeling down and ruffling her hair.

The kid quickly told you where they where, and you began to sing, guiding yourself there. Hawks arrived seconds after you took off into the air and yelled after you.

You disappeared into the still burning building.

    Time skip (because I'm lazy)

     Hawks POV

"It's going to collapse soon! Is there anyone inside?"

"No, not other than Scales and a few kittens, but it's too dangerous to send anyone in. We just have to hope they make it out on their own."

Hawks tried to tune out the whispers, tried to ignore them, but it became inpossible when loud splintering noises and crashes came from the building. It had finally collapsed.
