Audrey POV
"I haven't seen you around the school for a while? Where have you been?" He smiles, knowing I'm not going to give a simple one sentence answer.
"Well you know I'm basically abandoned and left to tear myself apart by someone you know pretty well. I mean it's not a biggie, don't worry about it." I say sarcastically when I know it hurts more than anything in this world. Ethan makes it look so easy, like nothing painful hit him when he left me. But I'm not going to fall at his feet even if it doesn't help me sleep longer.
"Well where have you been, I'm not going to let this conversation fall onto myself now."
"Well my father moved the rest of the family back from Spain so everyone was celebrating for a while. I think I even have my mom's specialty rice in my dorm if you want it, I remember how much you craved it 2 summers ago."
"Three words, yes, yes, and yes! That rice is what kept me alive when I was starved for modeling camp in the summer." I exclaim loudly enough for my words to echo in the empty room.
You'd think rich parents give their children everything, all the food and the friends. It's partially true, but they also give their children every reason to be the best. Higher status equals higher standards.
"That reminds me of a very alluring opportunity I can present you with. Modeling is something Audrey, something very special. And cheerleading is also something similar in glory would you..."
I cut him off, "No, not for me"
"But..."
"No! I have to say you are a good business person by comparing something I love to something you want. But as a final answer I say no."
"Well you can at least watch, it's fun to laugh at the freshman fall flat on their faces."
I think carefully on this, freshman, flips, comedy... sounds like a blast! Charlie then gives me the ever so charming puppy eyes, I would be a dumb blond to resist.
"Ok, but just watch! And we have to make a stop, I can't go out in front of bitchy Becca like this! We all hate and love that girl at the same time."
"Fine, but just for a minute" he says impatiently while following me to the dorm.
I open the door to see the clean room that took me some time in the morning. Now let's find what to wear, but before I can focus on my fashion zen Charlie screeches.
"What is this?!"
"What?"
"Why is your room so big, so clean, so... nice!"
"Oh, something called a crown jewel."
He then gives me a puzzled look, the look a troubled pug gives his owner when he doesn't understand.
"My new roommate is..."
"Beyoncé?, Lily Reinhardt?" He responds knowing it's too good to be true
"Those people are way too old for high school!" I say as we both are laughing out loud together.
"Oh, I got it! Sephora CEOs daughter! A little competition, Sephora v.s Ulta Beauty! Who will win? Who will lose?"
"First of all the obvious winner is Ulta, and second of all, sadly the CEO of Sephora does not have a daughter who shares a room with me. But the second family does have a daughter named Brooke who I am roomies with."
"Politics strikes again giving us yet another child of the law to take care of! Remember Barron in New York, or in a better summary remember Barron and Paige in New York?"
