I'll Always Be Here (Part 1)

A/N: In this chapter, I will be changing things up a bit by changing Keefe and Sophie's backstory up. This is in a Human AU btw. 

Keefe's dad in this story is abusive(I know he kinda is in the books but in this oneshot it's more physical) 

TW: ABUSIVE PARENTS, ALCOHOL USE/MENTION, anything to do with being slapped/hit

Keefe's POV:

That's it. I'm done. 

My father thinks he can do whatever he wants and I'm sick and tired of it. I grabbed my backpack, packed some clothes, tooth brush and toothpaste, and whatever else I needed.  

 As I walked down the stairs and through the kitchen, my father asked me,

"Where are you going?" Then takes a sip of his drink

"Wouldn't you like to know. I'm leaving and don't plan on me coming back."

"Keefe Sencen, get upstairs right now." 

"Or what?" 

He set down his bottle he was drinking out of. He stood up and walked over to me and pulled his hand up. Next thing I knew, I was sitting on the floor, stunned, my face burning.

"Now go upstairs. Now." He demanded.

I trudged my way upstairs into my room. I plopped down onto my to my bed thinking about what I should do. 

Bing

A text? From who? I looked down at my phone and saw the name:

Soph <3 

My face lit up as I hurried to open the text. When I looked, she had texted me about eleven times:

So=Sophie, Ke=Keefe 

So: Keefe? Are you there?

Ke: yea. sorry soph what's up

So: I was just asking if you were still coming over to do homework with me

So: hello?

So: Keefe? 

Ke: yea. i'll head over.

So: ok! See you in 10! 😘

Ke: cya ❤️

I put down my phone and sighed. Crap. She's gonna see this huge mark on my face. I'll just tell her... I fell! Yea. 

I grabbed my backpack (for school) and my car keys. I bolted dow stairs like my life depended on it. 

"Going to Sophie's be back later." I mumbled and ran out before my dad could protest. 

I hopped into my car and drove off to Sophie's house, or mansion, I guess. 

When I got there, I knocked on the door and was greeted by Soph and in her arms she was holding her cat, Iggy. 

"Hey!" She said, opening the door wider for me to come in.

"Hello, m'lady." I said, dipping into a bow. When I stood back up I let Iggy on the head behind her ears as the CT's key out a soft purr.

Sophie and I smiled at each other. A second later her smile was gone. 

"What's this?" She asked, putting her hand on my cheek. 

"Oh that, I feel." I said, delivering my lie easily, although the tips of my ears burned.

"Keefe. Tell me the truth. Your ears get all pink when you lie." She said, pointing to my ears after she put Iggy down. 

"I am telling the truth, though. I swear." I said, raising my arms up.

"Your ears turned a deeper shade of pink, Keefe." 

"I'm not lying Soph." I said, pulling her into a hug. 

"I'll let you go for now, but later, Sencen, I'll found out." She said, putting her head on my chest.

"Okay, okay whatever you say. HEY! That rhymed!" I exclaimed, making Sophie laugh.

Oh gosh, her laugh. I would kill just to hear it. 

Don't look at me like that. I know why's you're thinking. Keefe, why didn't you just tell your girlfriend? 

Well, she's been under a lot of pressure lately and I don't think she needs to worry about me and my problems.

"Keefe? You okay?" Sophie asked, now at the base of the stairs. 

"Yea... I'm fine.. just deep in thought." I said.

"Ohh.. uh, okay c'mon let's get started on the homework." She said, grabbing my hand and leading me upstairs. 

Will I tell her?
