"Your birthday is in about a week or so, what do you want to do that weekend?" Eric asked Ashlyn before tennis class was over. "Um, I don't know. I don't really care, I guess we could go down town? If that's ok with you, we don't have to." Ashlyn explained to Eric kinda laughing. "No, that's fine, I could drive us down there. It shouldn't be that difficult." Eric said smiling at Ashlyn. When they were done with practice, Ashlyn said goodbye, and drove home. As Eric was about to leave, his good friend Rhiannon grabbed his arm, "You're gonna hang out with her on her birthday right?" Rhiannon asked a little frustrated. "Yes, I am, and what's wrong with you?" Eric responded pulling his arm away. "Our project, it's not working, I'm gonna need you to come over after school. And you need to break up with Ashlyn. I've told you a thousand times what's going to happen if you continue to be with her." Rhiannon explained to Eric as if he was stupid. "That's not your problem if I continue to date her or not, and what do you mean our project isn't working?" Eric redirected annoyed with her. "Just, come over. You'll see." Rhiannon said with her hands in fists. "Why do you have a problem with everything I do?" Eric said grabbing Rhiannon's arm before she walked away. "I don't. It's just I'm trying to help you before you mess your life up." she said, then walked away.
