"Hey! You're a little early picking me up!" Ashlyn said with joy. "I'm only a few minutes early." Eric joked. It's Ashlyn's birthday, and Eric had promised that he would spend the day with her. "Who is it!" Ashlyn's grandma shouted from inside the house. "It's Eric grandma! Remember I said him and I were going downtown today!" Ashlyn shouted back through the small house. "Oh, alright! Have fun, and be careful!" Ashlyn's grandma responded. The two of them walked down to Eric's car that was parked on the side of the road. When Eric started the car he asked, "Alright, what store did you want to head to first?" Ashlyn thought for a minute, and responded, "Anywhere,". "Alright, anywhere it is." Eric smiled. As they drove to Chicago, Ashlyn made Eric suffer, by having to listen to 80's music. It wasn't a long drive, nor was it an awkward drive. They talked about school, and how annoying some of the kids are. Once they got downtown, they walked around. They went to a few stores, Eric had bought Ashlyn a few things, and they ate at McDonald's. Before they left, they stopped by the lake. Since Lake Michigan bordered east of Chicago, and it wasn't too far from where they had parked, mine as well walk down there. "My socks and shoes'll get all sandy," Eric complained once they got there. "No, you're supposed to take them off." Ashlyn laughed at him. As they walked the beach, Eric admitted, "I've honestly never been to the beach, sorry for being a pain." "Ohh, no it's fine, how come you've never been here?" Ashlyn asked curiously. "My parents travel a lot and never take me with them. Plus they think driving all the way here is 'too far'." Eric said mimicking his parents. Ashlyn laughed a little, and understood what he was talking about. "Well that's not fair. They could've at least taken you here." Ashlyn said. "Yeah, I know. That's why I do everything by myself." Eric said looking over at the view of the city. Eric then walked looked down at Ashlyn, and kissed her. After their kiss, Eric mentioned that they should head home before traffic. As they were driving home, Ashlyn had fallen asleep. When they got to Eric's house he had carried her inside, and let her take a nap on the basement couch. Eric's house was small like Ashlyn's, it just had a nice basement. Strangely, just as Ashlyn was waking up from her nap, she had been knocked out again.
