Tess POV

"Tess get your lazy ass downstairs mom has made your favorite strawberry pancakes " Jennifer shouted on top of her voice.

"Coming "I said rubbing my eyes, I'm not an early riser but when it comes to strawberry pancakes... God knows what gets inside of me. Otherwise I hate mornings.
I slipped out of my duvet and walked towards the bathroom, I brushed as soon as possible and ran downstairs to eat my treat.

Once I was down I could sense there was something different.
My mom was dressed for her work.  Jenny was sitting right across my seat and was continuously smiling looking my way.

People think that it's normal but let me tell, it certainly isn't if it's coming from jenny.

My mom rushed towards me once I got myself seated.
"Honey, I'm just so happy "she exhaled handing me an envelope.
"Congrats sis, for getting accepted to your dream college,  I'm happy for you. "

Wait what I didn't apply for any other college beside those in Chicago and Minnesota itself and they were cool but not my Dream colleges.
I turned the envelope to see the...... No No No it isn't happening.

It read..... "Congratulations on behalf of Richmond community. We are pleased to announce your admission for the fall of 2020."

"mom what is this I didn't even apply for the Richmonds Virginia  how come.... "

Mom cuts off  " well kiddo I did on your behalf , you remember how fond you were of the university. You told everyone that it was your dream to get into it ,when you were 10."

"Mom that was when I was 10, now I'm 18 and if I had to get into it I would have applied for it , but I didn't. That signifies that it's no more a dream. "

"yes kiddo it is no more a dream, it's a reality now. And Jen told me that the only reason, you didn't apply for it was ,that you didn't want to go back to Virginia "

"Mom can  we not talk about it I'm in no mood to have a discussion over the fucking past. "

"Girl watch your mouth . I know you are upset but for others you cannot just give up on your dreams. I'm not listening to anything ,you are joining Richmonds and that's it."

"But mom....." I stopped I knew there was no point in arguing mom she is a hard one.

I took my plate of pancakes and went upstairs to my room where I sat by my window. Even the thought of leaving my real friends here,  causes shiver down my spine.

A knock on the door.
"Tess I want to talk to you"

"Well I don't want to , Jen what was your need to tell mom about it? It's all your fault. Now go away "
She barged inside my room.

"Hey, listen I didn't not mean it that way, I just didn't want you to drop your dreams because of some stupid little fight that happened ages ago."

"First of all it wasn't as small as it seems to you all,  secondly I have lovely friends and my family here... How am I supposed to leave it all."

Now I was controlling my rage and whenever I did so ,I would end up crying .
Jen hugged me and soothed me. I know that she loves me and she would never do a thing to break my insides.

"What ever happens ,I'm not letting my sister stay weak forever,  go there face people. And accomplish great heights"
I nodded my head in a yes. Did I really do that. What's happening?

"We will pack your stuff today and you will be leaving over 'morrow "Jen said before leaving .

I called all my friends to come up at my house so we could spend some quality time before I leave.
I went for taking shower and then again pushed myself towards the bay window.

Richmond was a expensive deal. But thanks To My scholarship that mom will have to pay only the half.
I didn't want to be dependent on her, I'm an adult and I should be able to keep up with my needs.

My mom worked in a Real estate company. We weren't stinking rich but yeah we were well off. My mom made good money from the company profits.
We moved here in Minnesota from Virginia back when I was 14,  after my dad died in a road accident. My mom didn't want to be there, the place was a constant reminder of dad and his memories.

Jennifer is three years older than me. She is in Chicago university , pursuing
a degree in mathematics. She is a math prodigy. She was better than me when it came to grades. But only grades, besides I was more of a player. It wasn't like I was dumb, I had good grades but not as good as Jen. I played lacrosse as a captain in the team of East high.

"Tess your Friends are here"My mom shouted.
I literally jumped off my bed to meet my friends.

I went down to see Madison, Mark, Daniel, Betty, Jackson, Lana and Alex sitting in living area.
I ran to them ,in this process I stumbled near Mark's sofa.

"hey, girl slow down or you may have to join the fall with a broken nose"he laughed as he stood up to help me.

"I can't believe you are leaving, what happened to plan of sticking together even in college" said Madison my best friend. Then she hugged me and rest all joined in the big hug.
"if you keep me alive till then "I mumbled unable to speak properly due to being out of breath.

And everyone pulled out from the big hug. There was silence for a while after which Alex spoke up "Hey ,there is a thing called cell phone which will keep us connected. And it's not that you are going abroad, you will be in states itself. "

Everyone started laughing. Alex was my other best friend. He and Madison are step siblings.Alex's mom married Madison's dad when they were in 3rd grade. They got along quite well unlike other step siblings. Both didn't have any siblings so loved each other as one.

I spent maximum of my time with the two.
The next 6 hours we spent talking , watching FRIENDS  and hogging pockcorn.
The day went by really fast.
