Teressa's POV
It took me freaking half day to get everything settled.
Finally I was free or actually not I still had to feed Max. After that I threw myself on bed.
I glanced at the clock, it was just eight, way too early for me to sleep.
But besides sleeping what else I could have done, I mean I had zero friends here.
I had probably forgotten the streets.
I got up on my elbows to see Max settling on the rug next to the cupboard.
I didn't want to sit there as I was badly getting bored.
"Hey, Max would you like to escort me for a little walk."
Max got up from the rug and stood next to me nudging me on my arms.
"So I take that as a yes from you."
I quickly got up and hurried down to get his leash.
"here you go Maxy. "
I took my iPod and plugged in my earphones and put the song ' fuck I'm lonely ' ,which I surely was.
The neighborhood was quite calm, I walked a couple steps until I found a house which was unlike the others in the lane. It was lively in the sense that I could here the loud music thumping and hooting voices. There must be a party in there. If that goes on every night how will I sleep, it's just diagonal to my house.
I continued to stroll. I thought of calling Mady but I remembered that today Alex had the big game night so, she would be there. And I didn't plan to disturb her.
A few more step and I found Max dragging me to the opposite direction. I tried to control him but I couldn't.
He got me in front of a house where I saw a girl playing with her Labrador.
Now I got the reason, of me being dragged here.
The house was just two blocks down from mine towards the left.
I noticed that the girl was coming towards me with her Labrador.
"Hey" she greeted with a smile.
"Hi " I replied
"haven't seen you around you must be new to the town ."
"yeah I'm, I just moved in that one today" I said pointing towards the house where I stayed.
"Oh, are you related to the Campbells?"
"nopes, actually my mom rented the place so I could go to the college here."
"My brother too, goes to the college. I mean he has to start with one. By the way which will you be going to? "
"I got myself enrolled in Richmonds. "
" What a coincidence, even my brother will be going there. Good that way I'll be able to see you around more. "
"either way you will be, I'm your neighbor. "
We both burst into laughter.
"anyways I'm Jane. And you are? "
"Teressa but you can call me Tess. I know it's old fashioned. "
We turned sideways to see that Max and the lab were getting along well.
"what's her name? "
"it's Katy . She is like a younger sister to me."
"no wonders why Max was so happy."
We laughed again. "it was nice to meet you Tess. "
"likewise " I said.
With that she went inside her house and I started towards my house.
My phone buzzed. I checked the caller ID and dang, it was Mady.
"Hello bestie, missing me? "she shouted.
"Like hell. What you doing? "
"just came back from Alex's game. And Guess what, he got a scholarship to where? "
"where? "I enquired.
"I can just tell you that you won't be alone for your freshman year. "
"oh my god, Richmond. "
"yes it is, I'm jealous of him that he gets to be with you and I don't ."
"it's OK you can come here anytime. So when is he joining? "
" You know him being mommy's boy, he needs to spend some time with the family before moving out. So we are onto this family vacation. Hence forth he'll be joining a month later. "
" Ooo, that's sounds fun. "
" you can join if you want. "
"I think I'll pass, the colleges starts in a week. And I don't think it's feasible."
"and here comes your old friend ' boredom'."
We both chuckle.
"Alex is too excited to join there, he has been braging it all along since he got the offer."
" Me too I'm looking forward to finally having a company. Ahhh...
I gotta go ,Max is again dragging me. Talk to you later. Bye "
"bye take care. "
He was dragging me in the garden of the lively house.
"wait stop Max, listen to your master."
I was pulling his leash as hard as I could after all I didn't want to crash some random stranger's party.
"I hope you know, they don't understand. Had it been the other way then they wouldn't be dogs."
I looked to my right to see to whom did the voice belong.
There was a tall guy leaning on the car right next to him. He was tall, highly muscular. I could see his hazel brown eyes shine in the dark.A few strands of his dark brown hair were covering his forehead. He had the athletic build. An attractive one I suppose.
I opened my mouth to reply when someone interrupted me.
" Hey TJ, I was looking for you every where."
This hunk in front of me I believe was Tj.
The guy looking out for him had now joined us in the garden.
He marched towards me while I was still struggling to handle max.
