Ash pov
The whole period goes by pretty slow. I act like I understand everything but really I don't care about it. I was watching Colby the whole period. I time he caught me watching and I smiled and waved. He blushed smiled and waved back. When he did I felt butterflies in my stomach. I need to take my platform shoes and smush them. I can't have feelings for the enemy.
After class the bell rings and Sam and Colby part ways. Colby starts walking down the hallway and I see him keeping his head down and starts walking faster. Just then a boy grabs him and starts yelling in his face. I notice that face anywhere. It's Brennen Taylor my old friend. He betrayed me and I grew to be better and stronger without him. I run over and jump in front of Colby. "Hey! Leave him alone Brennen!" I yell at him. "So you know him?" Colby asks me. "Yeah we've met. He just left me like I was trash in the street." I say scowling at him. "Back off Ashley!" Brennen yells at me. "Never call me Ashly again! You know I told you, you couldn't." I say grabbing his arm and twisting it. He grunts and falls to the floor. I turn around and see Colby totally confused. I just smile and grab his arm. "What class do you have next?" I ask him. "Science class. How about you?" He stops and looks in my eyes. "Same." I blush and look down. With that a piece of hair falls in my face. He takes it and gently pushes behind my ear.
