You decided with all your 'parents' that you would get a recommendation to get into UA. I mean, you were raised and trained by pro heroes almost your entire life! Of course you were more than qualified to be part of the select few who could be recommended.

Even if you were recommended to go to UA though, you still had to take a physical and academic exam as well as have an interview. You were a little nervous, after all, it would be more than just a little embarrassing if you didn't get into the school that your entire family worked at, most of which were alumni! Not to mention, you were so focused on doing well in training, that your actual brain wasn't your strongest asset. Though you did fairly well on exams and tests, there tended to be a few mishaps at times, since you forgot to study. Because of this, your report card was only a little above average with mostly A-s and As.

It was finally time for the written exams, which made you really nervous. Your hands were shaking a little.

I know I get pretty nervous before tests and quizzes, but I've never had my hands start to shake before, you thought.

You let out a huge breath of air as you sat down at your place, staring out the window, helplessly trying to remember everything you had studied.

Just then, the tall, buff boy with a buzz cut sitting next to you quickly turned his head around, looking very determined and... passionate? As one might say.

"Nervous huh?" He inquired, smiling brightly.

"Hmm..? Oh yeah..." you trailed off, slightly irritated by his enthusiasm.

"Oh right! I forgot to introduce myself! Inasa Yaorashi, at your service!" He did a little flourish and a bow, making you uncomfortable at all the attention you were getting. To be honest, you were very shy and socially awkward when first meeting people. You were only very playful and open to people you knew you trusted, which could take some time.

"Ah- I'm Y/N- Y/N L/N," you mumbled. (You chose to use your last name from your parents, since you had so many adoptive parents, you just stuck with your own last name)

"You seem uncomfortable! Is there anything I can do to help?" He shouted, bringing everyone's attention to the pair. All the new pairs of eyes staring wide-eyed at you made you turn more pink than you already were. Somehow, by instinct, your wings sprouted and wrapped themselves around your body, almost shielding it from all the curious looks. A new voice, laced with ice and cold butted in, before she could say anything.

"She clearly doesn't like all the attention, so I think everyone here should just mind their own business. I'm trying to focus on remembering my studies, and I assume she was too. Putting her on the spot like that must have made her more nervous for this test than she already is! Now everyone should sit down and be quiet!" (Hes a little ooc on this chapter and a little in the next one)

You nodded a quick thank you in his direction, everyone settling down and looking through their study guides. It was then that you recognized the duo colored hair and his grey and bright turquoise eyes that the voice belonged to, bringing back memories of the past.

Flashback to when you were about six years old. You've had your quirk since you were four. All the other pros were busy doing last minute hero things, so they were unable to take care of you. Since it was so last minute and they couldn't hire a babysitter, they concluded that they should let her stay with Endeavor for the day (keep in mind they don't know his way of parenting.)

You are dropped off at the Todoroki manor, and are greeted by Endeavor himself. He guided you to a back room, which was practice dojo. Standing there was Shoto, panting, blood dripping from his nose. Endeavor directed you to stand next to the boy, and you quickly did so, in fear of his overwhelming intimidation.

He had forced you to battle the little Todoroki, but since you had never battled another person before you were very nervous. After all, you'd only had your quirk for about two years, and had started your training just the year before. You had minimal control over your light, but you could fly pretty well.

Shoto came at you, arms raised, sending a blast of ice your way, so you quickly jumped up doing a backflip, purely by instinct, as your wings sprouted midair. You flew up high, since it would be harder to aim the attacks there. Again, Shoto stretched out his arms, but instead fire came out of his palm. You yelped, jumping out of the way to find a new spot near the walls. You were shocked to see a black mark where she once was floating. That was very close! The boy fired a blast of ice from his right hand, nearly catching you, but luckily only stuck to a few feathers.

You soon realized that he could only shoot fire from one side of his body, and ice on the other. You also realized that he didn't have the best control over his quirk, which meant he was used to longer-range combat.

You landed on the ground, sprinting in between his blasts, trying to get close to him. You sometimes had to use your wings like a giant fan, to blow the flames away from you. Soon, you got close enough to him to send a small blast of light into his torso, which knocked him down to the ground. You then rushed over him and pinned him down. You were both panting and tired, so you assumed he had given up and you let your guard down. All of a sudden, his left side burst into flames, burning your hand, making you scream in pain. He quickly rolled so he was on top of you, putting out his flames, and pinned you down. You were obviously defeated, so you stood up shakily, limping over to a bench, nursing your burnt hand.

At this point you were crying, but Endeavor just turned away, walking out of the room, a small smile etched onto his lips. Shoto ran over, visibly upset, also on the verge of tears.

"I-I'm so sorry!" His voiced cracked, a tear running down his cheek. "I didn't want to hurt you, but father says that if I don't give it my all, he'll hurt mommy!" He created an icepack-like thing out of his ice and placed it on your burn. He led you to a bathroom where a first-aid kit was, and he started to tend to your wound. After it was all wrapped up, he gave you a hug. You noticed how well it was patched up, and commented about it. (The healing part of your quirk hadn't manifested yet, so that's why todoroki did it for you)

"Yeah, whenever I train with father, he burns me a lot, so I had to figure out how to patch up the burns. At the end of the day, mommy gives me a big hug and it always makes me feel better!" He smiles sadly through tears, and you hugged him harder. "But you can't tell anyone about father- he'll be very mad!" You nodded, and you broke out of the hug.

Endeavor returned after a little bit and trained them til they were throwing up, and about to pass out. Before one of the heroes were going to pick her up and bring her home, the flaming, awful hero forced her to take a shower to hide the sweat and grime stuck on her clothes. Some of the maids that worked there gave you a clean set of clothes that used to belong to Shotos older sister.

When the time came for you to leave, Shoto led you to the door. Right as you were about to get into the car which Midnight was going to drive you home in, you hopped out running back to the doorway, where the young Todoroki was still standing. You jumped onto him, nearly toppling over. You enveloped him in a big hug, and whispered in his ear,

"Bye bye peppermint! I hope I can see you again! You'll be the best hero ever!"

"Peppermint?"

"Yeah, like your hair! And you're your ice powers are cold, like the flavor!" You giggled, letting go. You waved goodbye one last time before getting into the car.
"Oh, the youth!!" Midnight exclaimed, driving off to her house. You never spoke about what happened during that day, in fear of what Endeavor would do. You were just a little kid after all!

Flashback end

You looked down at your paper, smiling to yourself. As you started answering the questions, you quietly repeated the nickname.

"Peppermint"
