On August 18th, 1997, the sea was happy.

The waters of the ocean were calm and clear. The people of earth took advantage of this, and flocked to the shores for a day of summer fun. Everyone was commenting on the remarkable lack of pollution. Millions of photographs were taken, to treasure this unusual beauty.

In a hidden section of Montauk Beach, in New York, the water was the same way; clean, still, and beautiful. Suddenly, three points - one higher than the other two - emerged from the sea. As they got closer to the shore, it became evident that these three points were part of an enormous trident, being held by a figure. As it slowly made its way to the beach, the figure became exposed - a giant head, neck, arms, torso, legs, and feet. It was a huge man, dressed in a tropical printed shirt, Bermuda shorts, and sandals. He had black hair, a beard, tanned skin, and sea green eyes with smile lines around them. When he reached the land, he shrunk down to human size, his trident dissipated into water droplets, and he vanished.

The man reappeared in front of a hospital. He marched inside, with an aura of power buzzing around him. He made his way to the front desk. The young receptionist looked at him, a bored expression on her face.

"Can you please direct me to Sally Jackson's room?" he asked, his voice gentle. The girl - "Jennifer", as indicated on her name tag - flipped though a binder for a moment.

"Room 402, down that hall," she replied, gesturing in the right direction. "First right turn, third door on the left."

"Many thanks." the man said, and continued on his way. When he reached the door, he took a deep breath, turned the knob, and stepped through.

A woman sat alone on the hospital bed. Her brown hair was tied up in a messy bun, with loose strands softly framing her face. She was wearing a simple dark blue hoodie, black leggings, and white no-show socks. She seemed to be in her mid to late twenties, but she had that kind of timeless face, showing that she could be 20 or 50.

"Sally." the man called out quietly. The woman turned at the sound of her name. When she saw the man, she smiled, and her sea blue eyes twinkled.

"Poseidon." she chuckled, and the man called Poseidon walked to the bed, and sat down next to Sally. For a long moment, the two just smiled at each other. However, Poseidon had come for a reason, and he didn't have much time.

"The child." he said. "How did it go?"

Sally smiled even brighter. "It's a boy. He came in at 1:00 am, but he's the most beautiful thing...." She trailed off.

"Where is he?" Poseidon asked. Sally pointed to a small crib in the corner. Poseidon rose and slowly walked over. Inside the crib was a tiny baby boy, wearing a light blue onesie. He had golden skin, and black hair that was just barely visible underneath his light blue hat. His little fingers and toes were curled, and he was fast asleep. Poseidon gaped at his son for a moment, then carefully lifted the baby up in his arms, and rocked him gently.

"Does he have a name?" he whispered.

Sally sighed. "Well, our little baby here is going to need some luck, knowing us. So, I decided to name him after the one Greek hero with a happy ending-"

"Perseus." the two parents said in unison.

At that, baby Perseus woke up. He didn't cry. He just opened his beautiful sea green eyes, seeing his father for the first time.

Unfortunately, it would be the last for many years.

Hello dragonborns! I'm starting this, and my new Chaos story, and trying to keep up FaA and Three Demigirls, so I'll be busy! I'm sorry about my slow updates. I have to clean my room by New Year's, and I got a new Xbox for Christmas, and I have friends, and school, and a boyfriend, and a ton of other crap, so I'm really busy in my personal life, as well as my professional life. Yes, I do consider this a job, even if I don't get paid. And because of that, I'm going to stop being lazy, and actually start writing. I promise. Feel free to yell at me if I start slacking.

Oh, and one other thing. I don't care if I'm considered a "popular author" or not. I'm doing this because I want to. I like writing. It makes me happy. A lot of this is for my friends. A few of my best friends follow me, one in particular. Her name is Maddie. We met in first grade. She's practically my sister. I love her to death. A few years ago, she moved to Maryland. I still live in Massachusetts. Wattpad is the main way we keep in touch. I love sharing my writing with her. So don't you dare tell me that I'm just begging for attention. I don't mind if I don't get a million views. If that happens, I just keep writing, because I want to.

On that happy note, thanks for reading. I promise I'll stay on top of things from now on.
