Livi took a step back and then looked back at Becky, "Excuse me?"
"She said it clearly enough for God Sakes! You can't sit with us. Directly translated to, we really need a break from each other and if our shit doesn't get cleared up, then we won't be friends anymore." Amelia said. She knew what it meant, and she also knew what she said, she just really couldn't believe it.
"I know you're hurt, but I think you'll feel much better once you hear what I have to say," Livi said.
"Why? So, you can prove that you are right? Because you always are now, aren't you? The Great Olivia McLaren could never possibly be wrong! You are always perfect – you just have to be!" Amelia said, her voice loud and cracked. This was a girl fight coming from miles away.
"I'm not perfect! You know that Amelia! I'm silly and goofy and I mess things up all the time!" Livi said, placing her hand on Amelia's shoulder. Amelia shrugged it off, "Really, cause it sure doesn't seem like it! From where I am, you get everything you want without even having to ask for it and no one takes things away from you. You have perfect grades, perfect silky light brown hair, perfect skin, perfect eyes, perfect everything! I don't blame Charles! You flirt with every single guy in a ten-mile radius – you don't know what it means to just keep to yourself, do you?"
Amelia looked at her with pure spite. This was not the way Livi wanted this to go, "I don't flirt, I barley even talk! And, what, now it's my fault that Charles liked me?"
"No, we went over this, nothing is ever your fault, remember? You are simply flawless!" Amelia screamed. This was getting too big. Livi shook her head and spoke gently, "Amelia, I get you're pissed, but it's a scene now."
"So, let it be," Amelia said even louder. She screamed even, "Livi here is disgusting, horrible and if you really want to be friends with someone, trust me when I say this, not her! She is too rich for all of us, too posh! Her family has so much money she could probably just buy every one of us if she wanted to. Livi is..." "Stop," Livi said.
She hated when people talked about the fact that she was rich, she hated it – she didn't want any of this money, "Just stop," she said. Amelia looked at her with red eyes, "But why should I? You know how much I liked him, and you knew how much he meant to me. You already said yes to him then why did you make him ask you again in front of me – to rub it in my face! I get it, ok? I get that you are better and richer or whatever. But I guess I just misread the part where I thought we were friends!"
Ameila's words were soft to listen to but hard and painful to take in. "We are friends. No boys come in the middle of us, remember?"
Amelia shook her head, "You started this, not me." "Not me," she repeated. With that she took her juice and poured it all over Livi's frock. Olivia's mouth fell open. Then she closed it and smiled tightly as she slapped Amelia straight across her face. This was a frock her mother bought from her. It was one of the few things her mum liked in her closet. Her mum would hate her for getting it spoilt and to say that Livi was in trouble would be an understatement.
Livi took a few steps in front, towards to exit. But she wasn't one to leave and Amelia needed to hear the truth before she started hating Livi even more. Maybe the slap was extra, but it was almost out of instinct rather. That frock meant a lot to her, she might have overreacted, but she still cared about Amelia.
She turned back to Amelia and said, "I said no. For the love of God, I said no. I would never do that to you and maybe if you had listened, you would have figured that out. I do care."
Amelia's face looked shook but Livi turned and walked towards the door. She ran to the washroom - she probably had an impossible stain to remove.
Will walked into the cafeteria late. He got stuck in class, he had an assignment to turn in and he wanted to give it in early, he just wanted to get it over with because he spent the all of last night on it. When he walked into the cafeteria, there had obviously been a scene because everyone seemed to be quite – that almost never happened.
He saw all his friends sitting at a table, Charles was still down because that spoilt girl had rejected him. He went up to Charles first and whispered, "She's really not worth it – you deserve better than some spoilt girl who cares about nothing but money."
Will had never really talked to 'Livi', the girl talked to only her spoilt friends, but he had heard the rumours and there were a lot of rumours in school about her – she always said no to everybody because no one was good enough for her – no one equal. She was rich and blew money on designer stuff, money that she probably could have used doing something good for the world.
However, when Will heard Charles talk about her, she seemed different, sweet and kind. Will obviously didn't trust her but he knew that she made Charles happy. He would always smile when he talked about her and do nearly anything to impress her. He even became friends with her friends. To Will, it seemed dumb and maybe even desperate, but if there really was someone capable of making Charles so happy, she must have been amazing. Just the look in his eyes when he talked about her told Will that much.
The look in Charles' eyes now, however, made Will want to go and choke her. He looked at Will, "I should've known that I couldn't have been good enough – not in a million years." Now will really want to choke her, why would someone make Charles, who is always so full of himself, make him think something like this. "Buddy, she is not worth it. At all, she's completely spoilt. You are an amazing human being and I don't want you to think any less of yourself, not for some girl, okay?"
Charles nodded. Will, desperate to take Charles' mind off of things asked the rest of the guys, "So, why was everyone so quiet?"
Ethan spoke with a smile on his face, his small dimple highlighted, "Huge chick fight!"
Dan poked Ethan in the ribs, "Sorry, girl fight! Chick is a disrespectful term that shouldn't be used. Happy now are you Dan? Anyway, so Amelia Rogers went mad at, well the girl we all dislike right now. She went blown out and said that the girl doesn't care about anyone and is too posh and that she could buy all of us and stuff like that. Stuff got really heated and then – Rogers poured juice all over her. Her slapped Rogers for that. It was, well, worth getting a whole cafeteria quite!"
Charles smiled, "You guys can say her name and stuff. I'd just like things to go back to normal." "See even her own friends think it," Will said to Charles in his ear. Charles gave him a small smile. Will really needed to take Charles' mind off things and his last diversion didn't really go as planned. Plus, the look on Ethan's face said that Ethan was planning something, and those things don't end well, but they are usually funny.
Dan, in the end, was the one to speak, "So, we are still trying to ride the Royal Enfield today right?" Everyone had totally forgotten about that so all of them including Charles started talking about their practice after school today. There was a man, who was teaching the boys how to ride. He was legit and a really good instructor. All their parent had said yes, and the classes till now had seemed really fun.
Ethan, however, said that he wouldn't be able to make it to today's class. Will didn't fully believe that because he already fully believed that Ethan was scheming something.
