Saying that Youngjae was nervous for his first day in a new school in a country he hasn't been to in years was an understatement. If he had to pinch his ears with a tweezer, he'd still be more nerve-wrecked with his introduction to CreKer High School for Exceptional Young Men.
Before finishing Middle School in Los Angeles, his parents had already informed him of their return to South Korea. Youngjae, who has adopted the name Eric in LA, was reluctant at first. With all the friends he'd be leaving behind, he was pretty sure he'd hate it if he transfers to South Korea.
However, later on, Eric realized that being in a new environment would be a fun adventure. He imagined talking to some new friends and acquaintances. Sooner than his parents predicted, Eric was already looking forward to transferring.
Well, that day was different. On the day that Eric has been waiting for a year, his excitement had been replaced with a certain kind of feeling that made him want to puke everything he'd eaten for breakfast.
Eric and his parents sat outside the Headmaster's office. His parents were already talking about all the good things they've seen on the way to the office. On the other hand, Eric felt as if his legs were bamboo on a windy day.
"Mr. and Mrs. Son," the secretary called. "Headmaster Kim is ready to see you now."
The three of them entered the Headmaster's Office. They were greeted and seated by the Headmaster who, Eric thought, was kind of intimidating.
After exchanging formalities, the Headmaster went on to thank the Sons for choosing CreKer High School as Eric's school. "Youngjae will be a great addition to the exceptional young men in this institution," he added. Their conversation went on for a long time with Eric not saying a single word unless he's spoken to. This was very unlike him as Eric prefers to talk from dusk till dawn.
A few moments later, Eric said goodbye to his parents as the Headmaster prepared to introduce him to Class 10-B.
Eric fixed himself and followed after the Headmaster. Eric wished he had that tweezer instead right now.

Lee Juyeon and his friends walked down the hallway towards their first class. The student body has taken the liberty to call their gang The Boyz. Juyeon wasn't thrilled with that but he wasn't that bothered either.
With his hands in his pocket and earphones plugged in one ear, Juyeon walked with full confidence. Sangyeon, Jaehyun, and Younghoon trailed closely behind.
All eyes were on them. Another thing that Juyeon wasn't so thrilled about.
"Juyeon," called Jaehyun. "I've been calling your name many times. What's wrong with you?"
"Are you welling up to that song you're listening?" Sangyeon teased him.
Juyeon looked at Younghoon if he had something else to add, but he just stayed quiet, just as he usually did.
"What about it, hyung?" Juyeon replied. "Are you seriously taking shots at me when I was the one who caught you teary-eyed during Chanhee's performance last year?"
Jaehyun laughed, remembering how affected Sangyeon was with Chanhee's rendition of Love Don't Hurt. Juyeon looked at Younghoon again. Still nothing. The guy was instead scrolling through this phone.
Sangyeon, guilty as he was, tried his best to defend himself. "Yeah, like you weren't affected by that performance."
"We were," Juyeon replied. "It's just that we were affected by the performance. You, on the other hand, was affected by the performer. You can't lie to me, bro. I know you very well."
"Okay, enough of that." Sangyeon said, finally tired of the teasing.
Juyeon turned around so that he could see his friends while walking along the hallway. "So, why where you calling me again?"
"I heard there's a new kid coming in today," uttered Sangyeon.
"What grade is he in?" Juyeon asked.
"I heard about that," Jaehyun butted in. He liked to do that. "He's on the 10th Grade. He's a transferee from Los Angeles."
"A transferee? That's new." Juyeon remarked.
"Yeah. That means the Headmaster will be out of his office and will be roaming today." Sangyeon commented and just as soon as he finished making that remark, Sangyeon tried to pull Juyeon from something.
Juyeon had his back on where he's going so he wasn't able to notice that they were nearing the corner leading to the Headmaster's office.
Juyeon collided into who he believed was the Headmaster. He bowed immediately, asking for the Headmaster's forgiveness. "I am so sorry, Headmaster Kim. I wasn't looking." Juyeon bowed his head so low, afraid of getting on the Headmaster's bad side.
"Mr. Lee Juyeon." Just the bare fact that the Headmaster has said his complete name has shaken Juyeon to his core. "You don't need to apologize to me. You have apologize to Mr. Son here."
Juyeon looked up and saw a short, pink-haired guy sprawled across the floor. He moved immediately and tried to help the poor kid.
"Mr. Son Youngjae here is a transferee from Los Angeles," the Headmaster continued.
Juyeon looked at the new guy and said, "I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to bump into you like that."
"So, in what way would you like to bump into me, then?" Youngjae said, his face looked so serious and annoyed. Juyeon was scared he really hurt the poor tenth grader. He was about to offer to take him to the nurse's office, but Youngjae suddenly flashed the cutest smile Juyeon has ever seen. "I'm kidding. I'm fine, hyung. I'm tougher than I look." Then he laughed, which Juyeon thought was even cuter than his smile. He can even swear Youngjae's eyes sparkled as he laughed.
"I see that you're now acquainted with each other," the Headmaster said, breaking Juyeon's trance-like stare at Youngjae. "Mr. Lee, you've earned the chance to give Mr. Son here a tour around campus. Also, you have to introduce him to Teacher Bang. I have an urgent meeting in a few minutes."
"But I have a class in thirty minutes." Juyeon rebutted.
"Tell your teacher I had an errand for you. I'll take care of it later." The Headmaster turned towards Youngjae. "Mr. Son, have a great first day," he said, then bid his goodbye to Juyeon and his friends.
Juyeon looked at Youngjae, partially hesitant to give the tour. Partially, because Youngjae, who's still smiling at him, makes it kind of impossible for him to say no.
"'I have a class'? ," Sangyeon whispered. "Come on dude. Look at him. He's cute. He's totally your type."
Juyeon turned towards his friends, annoyed. "What?" He said, almost in a high pitch.
"He denying it," Jaehyun said, leaning towards Sangyeon, as if they're mocking or teasing him.
"He can try," Sangyeon added. He then walked towards Juyeon and placed his hand on his shoulder. "Guess I know you very well, too."
