Hours passed by quickly and it was already lunch time. Changmin promised Chanhee to swing by the canteen and get some food for him. Chanhee was spending the whole day at the Music Club booth to promote their club.
Being the president of the Music Club meant additional work for Chanhee, but he never made a complaint and just did his work diligently. As for Changmin, his senior had been bugging him to be the president of the Dance Club, but he declined, knowing that he's gonna have his work cut out for him especially after almost flunking last year.
After the bell rang, Changmin rushed to get at the front of the long lines in the cafeteria. Lucky for him (and for Chanhee), he did. He bought all their favorite dishes and even ordered cold noodles for the two of them. Changmin added bread for Chanhee to snack on in case he's hungry later in the afternoon.
To get to the club fair faster, Changmin took the shortest route possible and passed by the tree where some students stay for peace. He looked around, wondering why there's no one hanging out. Maybe everyone's at the canteen, he thought.
He took a peaceful walk, humming to his new favorite song. He walked past the tree to get some shade. Just as he was under it, he heard someone call him. It was so faint he could almost not hear it. He looked around and saw no one. He went on with his walk, not bothered. Then, there it went again: the calling. Changmin looked again and still saw no one. This time, he looked up the tree to see if someone was there. To his surprise, there was.
A tall figure sat on the lowest branch of the tree. If it was anyone, Changmin would've been fine with that. But as soon as he realized it was Younghoon who was calling him, Changmin screamed his lungs out. Younghoon even had to cover his ears.
Chanhee had disagreed with Changmin a lot of times about Younghoon. For Changmin, Younghoon scared him with his silent demeanor. He was always bothered by how blankly he stared at people. Changmin loved the horror genre, he even had an Annabelle doll, but being in Younghoon's presence was next level scary.
When Younghoon tried to descend from the tree, Changmin's instinct was to run, but to his shock, he wasn't able to do that. Changmin just stood there, unable to move.
Changmin held on to his stuff tightly as Younghoon approached him. When Younghoon reached his hand, Changmin closed his eyes. Never in his life had he been scared like that.
Then, nothing. Changmin opened his eyes slowly and realized that Younghoon wasn't near him anymore. He had already begun climbing the tree again.
"Hey, what was that all about?" Changmin called, rather annoyed.
Younghoon turned his face towards Changmin, revealing Younghoon had taken a piece of bread from Changmin and was already munching on it hands-free.
"Did you just take my bread?"
Younghoon stopped from climbing and finished the bread before replying, "This is my favorite. Come back here tomorrow and bring me some more." Younghoon replied in the iciest way he can.
