Mila's POV.
''Stop being so defensive Lin, it's so obvious that you're more cute than hot, everyone already said so,'' Min said with his arms crossed.
''I'm not cute Min, stop saying that! And besides if I'm more cute than hot that also means you are too, '' Lin retorted.
''No Lin, I'm the hot twin and you're the cute one, just accept it, arguing doesn't change the fact that I'm hotter than you."
''Oh my God Min, stop saying that, you are not hotter than me, and for the last time Min, I am not cute, '' Lin slammed his hand on the table and stood up to look more imposing.
''Aw, you look so cute when you're all mad my cute baby brother, ''Min said in a babyish voice and stood up to pinch Lin's cheek.
Lin slapped his hand away from his cheek and stopped a random boy who was carrying his lunch. ''Yo, I'll give you a hundred dollars if you punch my brother in the face.''
"I'll give you five hundred if you punch him instead,'' Min countered.
"Don't steal him!'' he yelled at Min and turned back to the confused boy, "I'll give you a thousand," he said without batting a lash.
Well that confirms my suspicion that Lin and Min had absolutely no regard for money.
''Hey Jazz, I have to go to the bathroom, I'll be right back, '' I shout to her above all the noise that has gathered because of the twin's fight.
''Aw, but the fight is just getting good,'' she pouts, ''can't you hold it a bit longer?''
''Nah, but it's cool I can go alone,'' I say and stand up.
"Where are you off to?'' Ryder asks.
''Bathroom''
"I'll come with you,'' he says packing up his lunch.
''Dude stop being so paranoid, I don't think Axel will follow me to the girl's bathroom, I'll be alright,'' I say and hurry out of the cafeteria before I get any more questions or offers.
Throughout today, at least two of the guys have followed me everywhere, and I mean everywhere, I'm sure a few girls are still wondering what Shane was doing in front of the girl's bathroom during economics class.
I loved the concern and care, but it was a bit too suffocating for someone like me who likes to spend at least some time alone to gather my thoughts, which was exactly why I was out here now.
Axel would most likely be eating lunch, so I guess I'm safe for now.
''Milana!'' I hear someone yell from behind me.
I freeze before realizing that it can't be Axel due to how feminine the voice sounded. I turn around and see a flustered Mrs Mandalay.
"Do you need something?'' I ask politely, ''yes, are you done with lunch?'' She asks and I nod in reply.
"Good, do me a favour and give this to Coach Blight, he's on the field,'' she said handing me a little brown envelope.
''Sure,'' I say and collect it from her, before making my way to the field.
''Thank you,'' she calls out from behind me.
Immediately I step out of the school doors the unforgiving sun rays shine down on me making me break a sweat.
Now where on earth was Coach, Mrs Mandalay said he was going to be on the field but there was absolutely no sign of him, and I was currently on the field.
I looked around for the last time before turning around to check the parking lot for him. Maybe he decided to go home instead of standing under the scorching sun which was currently burning my bare shoulders. Luckily, I don't sweat much, if I did I would must likely be wearing a soaking wet shirt right now with how hot the weather was.
Weaving my way through the cars in the parking lot, I stop abruptly as something brown and fluffy grabs my attention. I crouch down and see a little brown and black puppy at my feet.
''Are you lost little one?'' I ask and slowly hold out my hand to pet him, all fear of getting bitten lost at the sight of his cute little head. He growled lowly and sniffed my hand suspiciously, before slowly coming closer and brushing his fluffy head on my palm for me to pet him. I oblige and set the forgotten, brown envelope down in order to lift the cute little puppy.
''Aren't you just the sweetest little thing, yes you are, oh yes you are,'' I coo softly and giggle as he barks happily in reply.
What was a dog like him doing in the parking lot of the school. Could he possibly be someone's pet? I check his neck for a collar but don't find one.
''Seems like you don't have an owner. Would you like to live with me instead, little one?'' I ask and he barks in reply and goes to lick my face but I stop him before he could. He's extremely cute but dog slobber is not.
''Stay here okay? I'll go give this to coach, then take you home with me,'' I say and rub his head one more time before standing up. He looks at me and cocks his head to the side a little, but still remains seated.
''Wait here, okay?'' I say and tie my bandana around his neck just in case.
After a few minutes of searching I spot Coach Blight from a distance and jog up to him.
''Coach Blight!'' I yell, and break into a run. The faster I give this to him the sooner I get to see my little munchkin again, ''Mrs Mandalay said I should give this to you,'' I say and thrust the envelope towards him."Thanks,'' he says, most likely impressed and surprised by my running.
I take that as my clue to leave and retrace my steps back to where I left the little pup, but he wasn't there.
"That's strange I could've sworn that this was where I left him''
I shove any possibility of him going back to his owners to the back of mind and start searching for him.
After a few minutes, I give up and go back into the sweet air conditioned school. I guess he really wasn't mine after all.
Sigh.
With all the time I wasted searching for Coach Blight and the puppy, I'm sure everyone was already about five minutes into class by now.
I was so late for my first maths class, it's taking every ounce of will power in me to walk towards my locker to get my books right now. The less sensible part of me is screaming at me to just drive home and escape the misery that is maths.
Sigh, I hate maths so much, especially because of the fact that I'm awful at it no matter how hard I try.
Don't think about that Mila, think happy thoughts like the fact that I have packs of skittles inside my bag that I could secretly munch on during class and that mum said we could all go out for ice cream after school since she doesn't have any shifts then. Once I'm taking ice cream all the stress about maths and Axel will be long gone.
Why was I even so worried about Axel in the first place, dude's just a complete wuss, I'm sure he's just too scared to come and confront me af- "Ah!"
I let out a small scream as I was caught out of my daydream when I felt a hand grab my waist and pull me into a dark room which by the size and smell of cleaning supplies is most likely the janitor's closet, I could practically roll my eyes at how cliché this moment is. My captor's hand clasps around my mouth, reminding me of his existence.
''Don't scream,'' he whispers lowly, eliciting shivers down my spine.
This is it, Axel finally caught up to me now he's going to revenge.
Farewell cruel world, I guess this is the end...
