Nobody's POV
"I'm going to be late!"
Marinette raced up the steps, trying to make it to class before the bell rang. As Marinette rushes into the classroom, just barely before the bell rings, she takes a sigh of relief. But before she could take her seat, she spots blonde hair, and that's when she sees him.
Adrien.
Adrien's eyes locked on hers, and he could immediately tell that even though she was smiling as if she was fine, there was still see a tint of pain and sadness in her eyes.
Biting her lip, Marinette quickly tore her gaze away and walked to her usual seat next to Alya. Noticing the sad look on Marinette's face, Alya puts a hand on her shoulder. "Are you okay, Marinette?", Alya asked in a concerned tone, and Marinette forces back a smile to her face.
"Yeah, I'm all right," Marinette says, and even though she's smiling, Alya thinks it still looks a little sad. Alya hesitates, like she's about to say something, but instead nods and leaves it at that.
After class, Marinette gathers her things and says goodbye to Alya, and out of the corner of her eyes, she sees Adrien grab his bag and head towards her. In a panic, she quickly rushes out, leaving behind a confused Adrien. "I'll be fine," Marinette tells herself. "I have to be." So she takes a deep breath and keeps walking.
"I'm really sorry Marinette. I really am, but I don't like you that way," Adrien said quietly as he broke eye contact and stared at the floor. I'm... in love with someone else."
She's done crying over him and stuttering around him. So she tries her best to forget about him. But as she walks away, she just can't seem to get the blonde fashion model out of her head. Suddenly, she gets interrupted from her thoughts when a hand grabs her arm, and she quickly turns around to meet a pair of green eyes.
"Marinette, why are you avoiding me?"
A light shade of pink settles on Marinette's cheeks as she lowered her head and gazed nervously at the floor.
The silence stretched on.
When she speaks, it's with her eyes hidden underneath her raven-black strands of hair. "Don't you get it, Adrien? Or are you just too dense to realize that I need some space right now," she said so softly he could barely hear her, and then she walked away, leaving him in the classroom with just his thoughts.

A/N As you can see, I rewrote this chapter from scratch, because I wasn't happy with the way I previously wrote this chapter. Also, I haven't updated this story in a year! I'm so sorry about that. I've just been really busy with school, but since summer break is starting tomorrow, I'll have a lot more time on my hands to update this story (along with all my other ones). Anyways, the next chapter will probably be up in one or two weeks.
