Chapter one • Keisha

"Look, I can climb the rope now!" Mya exclaims and I smile.

"Well done Mya, you're doing so good." She frowns.

"But I can't get back down." I chuckle as I go and help her. I take her in my arms. "That's it, I've got you."

Our heads turn to the door and Mya's dad walks in. "Daddy!" She shouts as she runs up in his arms. I stand with my legs crossed, looking down as I play with my fingers.

"Keke taught me how to climb on the rope." She points to the rope, I chuckle at the name she gave me. "That's good, are you gonna tell her that you want to learn how to do the splits?"

She runs up to me and gives me those innocent eyes. "Will you teach me how to do the splits?"

"Of course Mya." I smile as she jumps up for joy before running back to her dad. He picks her up and starts walking towards me.

I feel my heart beat quicker.

"Here." I look down and was shocked.

"100 pounds! I can't take this money, we agreed on twenty."

"Just take it Keisha, you deserve it." He winks at me before turning around and walking to the door. He turns back around. "Who's taking you home?"

"My friend is coming to pick me up."

"Ok, I'll wait with you 'till she arrives." He puts Mya on the ground.

"No it's fine, she's not that far." I try to reason with him but it doesn't work. "It doesn't matter, its getting dark outside and I don't want you here by yourself."

I sigh then pack my things. I hear a honk outside, I turn around and see a white Mercedes Benz. "That's her." I put on my coat.

"Bye Keke."

"Bye Mya." I bend down and give her a hug. "Bye." I wave at her dad and he smiles in return. I switch off the lights before locking the place. I get in her car.

"Who is that?" She asks while staring at him going to his car.

"That's Mya's dad."

"And why did he wait with you?"

"He said it was getting dark outside and he didn't want me to be by myself." I put my seatbelt on before she starts driving off.

"Why did he do that?"

"Gosh, I don't know Serena, why don't you ask him?"

"Nah I'm good." She taps her fingers on the steering wheel then sighs. "You know, I have seen the way he stares at you."

I raise my eyebrows and look at her. "Oh, its nothing." I chuckle it off.

"It doesn't look like nothing to me, he's stared at your ass a few times too, like he's eye fucking you or something."

I roll my eyes at her. "Whatever Serena, just take me home." I lay my head back on the headrest.

I finally arrive home. She leans over the centre console and hugs me, "bye Keisha."

"Bye Serena." I exit her car and enter my house. I shut the door behind me before grabbing my hair and huffing, "what am I gonna do?"

I go to my bedroom then into my connected bathroom. I turn the shower on and make sure it's warm before taking off my sportswear. I let the warm water run over my skin, my mind thinking about Roman.
