[Prince's POV]

I grew up with a high rank brother of mine who was light years better than I was. I always wanted to be as good as him, though achieving that would be a bit of a problem. He was constantly getting better, faster and stronger. How was I supposed to get to that level but even faster? 

I was beginning to think it was impossible, and N-pacer decided to help me after seeing my feelings of constant inferiority. Taking me to the lobby without me even realizing it. The warm sun shined down on my face and I felt like it was pure heaven. The light breeze and everything. Wow I was in love with the day. 

Shortly after entering the lobby my eyes gazed upon the prettiest [o/i] I ever saw. Was I going to go against them? I suddenly felt feelings of confliction. There was always cephalopods that were very pretty around the square... but they had a glimmer of light like a spotlight. N-Pacer snapped me out of my daze after nudging me to get me to come back to reality. I felt myself become flustered. For what reason would I be so spacey? 

Shaking that thought off I held my dualies in my hands. I reluctantly followed my friend with a chippy smile. I wanted to at least have fun but I knew I had to take this battle seriously even if it wasn't apart of the coro cup tournaments. 

[Y/N POV]

Today was the day I wanted to challenge myself with a weapon I almost never use. I always used quick, swift weapons for myself, yet because of my day off I decided to try the Luna blaster. A short ranged weapon with a relatively slow charge. What was the harm in expanding my horizons. I held it in my hand as I approached the spawn point. I noticed a smaller inkling next to me on my team. He looked pretty nervous but also excited at the same time. I smiled at him and soon looked out at the range we were in. Of course urchin underpass was the battle spot for the match. I could be jumped in moments and barely have time to react. 

I held my breath and went out there. Just like that the battle was over. My teammates were amazing and I was very happy with the result. Glancing up I shook my head in dissatisfaction. 

"Hey excuse me..." The little inkling walked up to me with a nervous smile. "I was wondering if you'd like to do a ranked battle with us? I'm trying to train and we could use an extra person" he smiled at me, I couldn't say no to his cute little face. I nod my head to give him the ok. 

"Yeah of course I'll join" I reply, giving a thumbs up but there was no way I would be using a Luna blaster in a ranked battle. I was an X rank and there was no way in shell I would lose it. 

[Prince's POV] 

I couldn't help but beam in excitement! The [i/o] said yes! That means I get to play along side them again AND they were very good so it was reassuring. Maybe I could get some tips from them... 

"I'm [y/n] by the way... I'm guessing your prince? " They guessed my name and my face turned red. I nod my head to show that they were correct. 

"Yeah that's me.."  

"Sorry.. haha I just remembered your name from the battle we just had. They displayed it on the screen" 

How could someone be so pretty, sweet and observant?? I felt myself laughing at it. Shaking my head I looked to N-Pacer who was proud of me for even asking. I smile to her and then back to the other cephalopod. 

"I called Emperor to ask if he would be our fourth if that's okay with you Prince?" N-Pacer chimed after being pretty silent for a while. 

"yeah I don't mind.. he isn't busy?" I asked and she responded with a no. I smile knowing my brother would be there to see my progress and maybe help me! I got some of the best people on my side so I was pretty happy to be there.

My older brother showed up to the lobby, looking a little taken aback from the other cephalopod that he had never seen before. He waved N-Pacer over and was leaving me and them together. 

"I've never seen you before.. are you usually around here?" I started small talk with them. trying to see if maybe they had seen me but either way we would have to find out. I noticed them smile and my heart fluttered.

"Not really. I usually play back at Inkopolis Plaza, but I wanted to take some time to visit the square. " They now held an N-zap. Just like army's. I heard the buzzing of the lobby timer go off, I was a little sad our conversation was cut short but also happy to start this match. 

*TOWER CONTROL* 

[y/n POV] 

Yes!! My favorite ranked battle ever! I enjoyed it more than any other. I was just mostly happy it wasn't clam blitz. I went to the spawn point with the golden colored team, having to change my usual color to something else. I held my weapon with a smile on my face. Smiling to my new friend. As soon as it started we all rushed to the middle where the tower was standing. Emperor, the tall one got to the tower, allowing us to take control.  I took a side path, going from behind. Splatting three of the four. The forth was taken down by Prince. 

"nice!" I exclaim to him with a proud smile which made him smile. It was so cute! He had the most precious baby face I've ever seen... He went to the tower with his brother to help protect him. The other team quickly rushed to get control. 

[timeskip] 

It felt so fast.. maybe because we won rather quickly. I smile a little bit and then shook my head slightly. 

"wow! [y/n] I didn't know you were an X-rank??" He stared at me, his eyes practically sparkling. It was so precious... I laughed a little which made him pout. "What?" 

"No- nothing! I just.. thought that reaction was adorable. " I smile softly down to him. I Wanted to just hold his face and squeeze his mochi like cheeks but I refrained. "You did really good out there. I can't believe you're only an S+ rank.. It's impressive really" 

That had to have boosted his confidence because he looked so stoked to hear that. I giggled again. How could someone be so precious I could just die.

"Want to maybe hang out another time? I'd love to be apart of your training. You could teach me a few things" I smile. He genuinely could but I really just wanted to see his adorable face react again. This time he blushed which made me blush. I chuckled and he nodded his head excitedly.
