April’s POV
My first time seeing one of those zombie creatures was 13 years ago when I was 3 going shopping with my Mum. I bugged Mum to let me go to the toys section, when we got there I went straight for the soft toys. Before we reached the soft toy section a giant teddy bear caught my eye, it was taller tha Mum and I had to get it. I remember the rest so clearly. I told Mum that I wanted the bear and I would not move if she did not buy it for me. So she agreed, we walked across the shop but, before we got to the bear this creature came out of no where. It’s skin was the colour of puke and it had blood everywhere. I was terrified and I could not move. Mum took me away before the site haunted my dreams forever, she pressed the emergency button but it was to late. Before we left site of the creature I saw blood pouring out of it’s eyes, that is what has haunted me since.
Beep… Beep… Beeeee- CRASH!
“Dammit I need a new alarm again” I mutter to myself.
Why do I need to wake up at 4am again? Oh yeah to train. To train for the so called zombie apocalypse anyways those left over zombies from the last apocalypse are harmless. I really don’t get why they kill the left over zombies because I am positive that once the left over zombies are all dead, a new wave of harmful zombies will start.
After I ran for 30 minutes and did some streatches for another 30 minutes, I did some weights, some spiraling on the dummy and finished off with some push ups and sit ups.
I check my watch, it is not 6:30. I take a half an hour shower and get ready for school. All I am wearing to school is trackies and a hoodie, I am sort of a loner who gets bullied.
“Sweetie come down for breakfast. Your brother is coming home on Saturday” Mum calls out to me.
“Okay” I simply reply.
After I eat breakfast Mum takes me to school. While we are on the way to school Mum and I have a lovely conversation about school and my ‘friends’. Mum still doesn’t know that my ‘friends’ are not friends at all but they, in fact, bully me.
Mum has just dropped me off at school and my ‘friends’ surround me and wave to my Mum. My Mum obiously waves back. Dammit Mum no, no don’t leave. I give Mum a pleading look and try to telepathically tell her that I feel sick and can not get through the day. Be of course she did not get my message, shrugs off the face I made and drove away.
“Thanks for nothing” I whisper quietly to myself so no one can hear.
“Well, well, well, what do we have here” The leader Jessica taunts. I just look down at my feet. I would beat her up if I wanted, she just does not know that. Muahahahahaha.
“Are you even listening to me nerd?” Jessica screeches while her followers laughed.
Dammit I think I have gone deaf. I look at her in the eye with confidence. She looks shocked, and wait is that fear. Damn right she should be scared! I almost went deaf because of her ‘lovely’ voice. Jessica’s crew suddenly scurries off while Jessica herself paled at something behind me. Should I turn? Hell yeah I am. I want to see what has the almighty Jessica running to her Mummy.
I turn around to see this young girl, what is she, like 13? Jessica recovers from her frozen state and wrapped her arm around me like we have been friends forever…? What?
