Lack of resources and skills has led to somewhat novel approach to fixing the green house. Neglect and a couple of truly monumental gales have as said before left the greenhouse in a somewhat Holey state, one missing pane in the greenhouse becoming three. This meant that the green house's ability to shelter my delicate little seedling was about as effective as using a sieve for carrying water. Pre the lock down version two, ie when we could still go to hardware stores I had managed on a foraging trip for liquid soap (unsuccessful as it would turn out) to obtain some corrugated plastic sheeting. Much sawing, cutting snapping, splintering and a nostalgic use of my more colourful turns of phrase not aired since BC (Before Children) travelling and the green house is frost proof and rather stylish. Bright red spinnaker tape in lieu of gaffa tape used to secure one roof pane and another replaced with a black compost bag gives the whole thing a touch of 80's chic.
A proliferation of planting then took place using up all the old seed packets. Reminiscent of the clearing of the kitchen cupboards and freezer there were best before 2000 seed packets, who knew? With the newly mended greenhouse full of seed trays and pots, I waited and what with the sunny weather life sprang forth "HAAH Haaahh they are aliveee" could be heard coming from the garden slightly worrying the neighbours.
