(That was pose to say Mariana not Aaliyah, sorry y'all I get my characters from other books mixed up a lot)

I didn't get much sleep last night, too many thoughts were plaguing my mind.

Technically it's still last night with it only being 5 am, so here I am sitting on my bed still in my night robes trying to figure out who that Marlee girl is and what she meant by those who you do not see die are never truly dead.

It's honestly giving me the creeps, and what in the world does the valley want with me?

And who is Maxon and America? These are just more questions to add to the millions that are already building up.

Like what in the hell happened with the king and drake back in the office?

I groaned and put on a pair of slippers.

I'll just have to wake drake some of these questions, but as for the Maxon America thing I can go to the library.

I pulled my hair into a sloppy ponytail and pushed open my door.

The first thing I noticed was a guard sleeping by my door.

Number one why is he here? And number two why is he asleep?!

I sighed and crept past him.

After getting out of the hall I made my way down the stairs to the library, there was no librarian and the lights were out.

I held my hands out in front of me blindly trying to find a switch.

I hit my toe against a desk and almost screamed.

I swear you could get shot and stubbing your toe would still hurt more.

Suddenly the lights flipped on and I cursed under my breath.

"Mariana?" A deep voice that I dreamt about many times spoke from behind me.

I turned around slowly. "Lyon?"

He broke out in a smile and pulled me in for a hug, "I was hoping I would see you" he said after setting me down.

"How did you get here?"

His smile faltered "I was drafted and now I'm a guard here"

I nodded in understanding "have you seen Lisa yet?"

He shook his head no "I just got here and I heard a loud noise from in here and decided to check it out"

I felt my cheeks heat up in embarrassment "uh yea I stubbed my toe" he smiled.

"It's the after pain that really gets ya" he chuckled I giggled along with him

"Yesss" after I stopped laughing I noticed he was staring at me intently, I cleared my throat a bit uncomfortable.

Which seemed to have snapped him out of his daze "uhm what were you doing in here anyways, it's late"

My heart beat sped up "oh, uhm I- so" I took in a deep breath.

"What's going on?"  He asked looking concerned.

I decided to tell him only about how I stumbled over the plaque.

"So earlier I was outside and I tripped over a plaque that was in the ground and it said 'Maxon and America' so I decided to see if there were any books on it that I could find"

I say hoping he doesn't question any part of my story.

He nods "I can help you look" he suggested and I smiled.
