The Boy // A Harry Potter Story

With Calliope by my side, we met up with my sisters at Transfiguration class. They seemed to like her, but were very shocked/surprised when she said the Grey Lady was eavesdropping invisibly on our conversation. I could tell Sera was a bit unnerved by that.

I felt obligated to introduce Calliope to my sisters. I didn't need them to accept her, not even to like her, I just wanted them to know this is who I hang out with. Sera had become friends with Cameron Prince, a Hufflepuff who was her Defense Against the Dark Arts partner since Brina and I were partners. Brina was friends with the Rush kids, a pair of Slytherin twins who were decent. Basically, they both introduced their friends to the rest of us. So, I dunno, it just felt right.

Potions class. Draco Malfoy aka The Boy was walking next to us in the corridor. He whisked himself to our side of the hallway.

"You know, Snape's gonna love you three." he said to me.

"That's weird." I tried not to make eye contact.

"Just sayin," he shrugged. "He's a fan of the Simberly's."

"Why does he know us?" I asked. "Why do YOU know us?"

"Ha. Don't try to make me laugh. Or try to be modest. Trust me, if it were my parents who died such glorious deaths for such glorious purpose, I would be strutting." Which wasn't saying much, because he was strutting right now.

"You're very ominous. And strange." I told him.

"I know you are but what am I?" he replied.

"I don't know what the heck you are, it's a good question." I snapped.

"Good game. Gotta give that one to you." he laughed.

"We're here." Sera nudged me.

The Potions room was in a dungeon. Great.

Professor Severus Snape opened the classroom door. The first person he saw was Brina. He looked from her, to Sera, to me and Draco.

"Simberly's. I've known you three for a long time." he said in a sleek voice.

After the entirely creepy lesson and whole day after that, we headed back to the dorms. Obviously, Draco Malfoy knew a thing or two about... everything. And I was determined to find out exactly what that was.

"Hey, guys," I said to Sera and Brina, who just turned away from talking to Eddie Rush, one of the twins.

"Yeah?" they replied.

"You think Malfoy knows something we don't?"

"Got that impression, yeah," Sera said.

"Mmhmm." Brina replied.

"Kay, yeah, so we should be trying to figure it out, right?"

"I thought the same thing!" Sera exclaimed.

"Me too!" Brina agreed.

"Alright, here's the plan." I said.
