Chapter 4 (Part 2) : Grimm

5 YEARS AGO

"King Python, I have eliminated all of the dangerous beasts outside Ozenvard. Do you still have mission for me to do?"

"Apxyn, the program will start now. Do you want to come with me?"

I'm actually not interested in it but something inside me keeps on telling me to go. I nodded without putting more thought in it

We arrived outside the palace and all the challengers are here. Later on, the program started.

What I am talking about is the selection of temporary kings. The king said that I am still too young for it so he will just choose someone to replace him. His health is not really good and he is in a stress lately, umm always actually.

So, to choose wisely among those Ozens who is dying to take the throne... He set a rule that only someone who can hold the katana can become the temporary king

"PLEASE STOP!!! GET THIS THING OFF ME!!! NOOOO!!" The challenger screamed. A dark shadow-like thing that comes from the katana is crawling on his skin creating different kinds of shape making him scream out of pain until he lose consciousness

It is such a terrible view but I am used to this scenery so there is no change in my expression. "I think you should go Apxyn. This kind of thing is not suited for you"

"I am fine. I shall watch 'till the end to see the result"

But in the end, no one was able to tame the katana among all those Ozens who tried. I was actually wondering why such a katana exists. Should I ask the King?

"King, the challengers died when they touched the katana. Why? And how did dad survived after touching it?"

That Katana is my father's weapon when he is is still alive

The King sat in his throne and coughed a bit "This is pretty long but listen carefully" I nodded 

"Ages ago, a warrior was called a Grim Reaper-- that is the owner of that katana. His ability is to suck negative part of an Ozen's soul and put it in a thing that keeps that negative soul. It was actually a good ability

Eventually, he thought of putting it on his katana and see if he will become stronger. He got stronger and stronger, until he keeps wanting more. He slayed many Ozens and sucked their negative soul and put it in his katana. Until the weapon itself automatically sucks out not only negative souls but the whole soul whenever it touches an Ozen.

The katana was named 'Grim of Death' or 'Grimm' in short, while it's owner was the 'Grim Reaper' who keeps slaying Ozens nonstop like a monster. That is when everyone thought that he lost his mind because of the negative thoughts flowing out of his Grimm and even him can't control it"
