Chapter 3
We sat on the bench, maintaining a meter distance away from each other. I saw how she was taken aback when I said that, which made me regret requesting it.
"But if it's too much to ask, you don't have to. I'll just wait until our wedding, In shaa Allah."
Minutes passed, silence ruled over us. I was about to stand up and called Khaliq, her brother, who's sitting on the fountain meters away guarding us, when she faked a cough.
"A-ahm, I'm sorry. I was just thinking deeply awhile ago that's why I couldn't answer you quickly."
She said, lowering her head.
"It's okay, you don't need to pressure yourself, Aisha."
She shook her head and stare on the flowers ahead.
"No, it's not. It's one of your rights, so who am I to take it away from you?"
Chuckling, she positioned herself, letting her back face me.
"I'm actually nervous, but I guess, this is normal. Right?"
I smiled on what she said. She's obviously nervous, hands are trembling while untying her face veil.
"Aisha, are you sure it's okay for you?"
I asked slowly as I observe how she elegantly untied her niqab.
"Yes, it is Imran. Don't worry."
I know I shouldn't think about it, but her voice is really familiar. It's like the voice... the voice of that girl. It took me awhile to process everything.
As she turn slowly, I didn't realise I was actually holding my breathe. And when I saw her face, imagine how shock I was.
She's that girl!
"Assalāmu Alaykum Imran."
"Wa-wa Alaykumussalām, Subhan-Allah."
Scratching the tip of her nose, she lowered her gaze.
"I know you're surprise, so am I when I first saw you. But I couldn't just come to you and told you na 'Hey, it's me, the girl you bumped into in front of the mall', not good."
The shock that I feel turn into laughter because of what she said.
"I was just shocked, I didn't expect it, really. I've been looking for you simula non, yet I couldn't find you anywhere. But Alhamdulillah, the girl that I've been looking and praying for is now here in front of me, with the mercy of Allah, she's now my soon to be bride and will be my wife. In shaa Allah."
"He finally answered my dua, Alhamdulillah."
Despite of how she tried to hide it, I can clearly see how her cheeks turn into crimson. Man, my soon to be wife is blushing, and she's so adorable. Mā shaa Allah.
Every thing happens for a reason, in a perfect time and with Allah's will. We just need to be patient, pray and work for it.
