Hiya! I wrote this all last night and edited it, so it's a little rough. But you got two Annabeth chapters in a row!! Yay!!

Timeline: Post-Giant War. In Boston looking for Magnus.

Summary: Magnus Chase is missing. Annabeth and Frederick Chase come to Boston to find him. Annabeth has a nightmare, and her dad is there to comfort her.

Iris messages work in this

Annabeth

When my dad got the call, we rushed straight to Boston. My cousin Magnus, who I hadn't seen since I was seven, was missing. Had been for two years, and my Uncle Randolph was now telling us. I can't believe that guy. I have fond memories of Magnus and I playing dominos in the Library once. Even though it had been years, I hope there was a chance of reconnecting again.

We rolled up in front of Randolph's mansion. I looked up in awe. The architecture was beautiful. Eight stories of grey stone, and those columns... wow. We knocked and Randolph opened the door. (a/n that is the most boring sentence I have ever written.)

"Frederick, glad you could make it. And you.... Annabelle is it?" I cringed.

"It's Annabeth."

"Yes. That's right. Well your room is upstairs, first door on the left. Go to bed; you must have had a long day. We can start looking for Magnus in the morning."

In truth, he looked like he'd had a long day. With dark shadows under his eyes and slouched posture. He looked like he's overstressed and hadn't slept for a day or two. And somehow I doubt it was from looking for Magnus. He had alternative motives.

Guess Dad and I were sharing. There was one bedroom besides Randolph's (regret going in there, even by accident.) Spotlessly clean, cold, and impersonal. Two twin beds. A dresser. Bare walls.

"Guess this is us." I told my dad and plopped my backpack on the bed closest to the window. Percy and I discovered that light helped fend off nightmares. Speaking of my idiot boyfriend, this was the first time we've slept this far away from each other since Tartarus. Sure, we've done where I'm in my cabin and he's in his, or at Sally's and Camp. Never him in New York and me in Massachusetts. Despite my calm exterior, inside I was shaking with nerves. There was nothing to guard my mind from that place but the moonlight. Lord Hypnos, please grant me peaceful dreams. With that I went to the bathroom and changed into my pajamas. Sliding in my bed and tucking myself up to my shoulders. A) it was cold, and B) Dad doesn't know about the scars I got from the Giant War. Heck, he doesn't know the Giant War happened.

I let that thought drift me off to sleep.

The arai were attacking us. Percy was slashing demon after demon down. Each time he doubled down in pain with a new curse. I grabbed a sharp rock, immediately slicing down two.

My vision went black. I could smell the stench of the air, but the sound of Riptide's slashing had disappeared. He left me.

"PERCY!!" I wandered around, hoping to hear him- touch him again.

"PERCY WHERE ARE YOU!!!" I broke down sobbing, letting myself sink to the ground, the black glass cutting into my knees. He left me alone, all alone. Abandoned. But he promised? AS LONG AS WE'RE TOGETHER EH?!?! He promised... how could he leave me? After everything?

I shot up in bed, wet with tears and sweat. I whipped the salt water still streaming from my eyes. Percy is still there. He's in New York. He still loves me. Percy hasn't abandoned me; he's in New York, and he still loves me...

I took a steadying breath, unzipped my backpack and grabbed the spray bottle I bought. It ran on a motor, so it sprayed until there was no more water or I stopped it.

"Percy Jackson, Upper East Side."

Immediately Percy's face showed up in the mist. He was sitting up in bed, but I could tell he'd been awake already.

"Hey Wise Girl, you too?" I nodded .

"You want to talk about it?" he said.

"No, you?"

"I was choking Achlys with her own poison, and you looked at me with that horror. Like you hated me." I laughed.

"Seaweed brain, you know I could never hate you. I love you."

Frederick

I woke up to the sound of crying. After checking it wasn't me (you never know), I saw Annabeth talking in the corner. She was talking to someone in one of those Iris vision things. The young man in question was also sitting up in bed and had unmistakable tear tracks on his face. I recognized him as Percy Jackson, my daughter's boyfriend. He looked taller then when I last saw him....Three years ago?

"Seaweed Brain, you know I could never hate you. I love you." Annabeth whispered.

"I love you too." She ran her hand through the message.

I fumbled to put my glasses on because even if I was a screw-up dad, I was an expert at comforting nightmares. , Matthew and Bobby got them all the time.

I walked over and put my hand on her shoulder, she flinched.

"Do you want to talk about it?" She looked at me and I could see the brake in her eyes. Her beautiful grey eyes. Then she looked away.

"Your glasses are on backwards." I reached up to my face, and sure enough- they were. I reached up and fixed them.

.

"Do you want to play planes with me?" That got her attention.

"You brought your planes?"

"Never leave home without some. I can't trust your step brothers to watch them!" Annabeth laughed. Good, good.

"..Sure."

I opened my backpack and pulled two fighter jets from it. I handed one to her, then used my bed as a launch strip. (a/n Bear with me on this part, the only experience I have with fighter jets are from Green Lantern.)

Pew! Pew! I pretended to shoot her with the little blasters on the plane.

"OH YOU'RE ON!" she shouted, and launched her own jet. We had them swirl and dip around the room, pretending to battle each other for fifteen minutes. Until we both collapsed on our beds, out of breath.

"Will you tell me what was wrong now?" She nodded mutely and sat down next to me.

"There was another war, the Giant War. Percy and I fell into this pit; Tartarus. It was like walking through Hell. One of the monsters that we fought called Arai, curse spirits. I killed two of them, but they cursed me. I went blind and forced me to feel like Percy had abandoned me. It was one of the most traumatic things that happened." I was speechless. How did I not know about all this?!?!? I hugged , and she hugged me back.

That was how Randolph found us the next morning. I was sleeping sitting up, with Annabeth's head in my lap. We got ready that day with smiles on our faces.

I really enjoyed writing this, and hoped you enjoyed reading it. I tried a new thing with the perspective switch, and kinda like it. I may try it again later (May!)

Please comment, vote, and all that- it would mean the world.

Bye, bye!! See you tomorrow!!
