✧✧✧✧The normal world is dull. Nothing magical or exciting that's for sure. Living in a bland society where the main focal point is money and greed for popularity.
Prideful goers surrounded without even knowing they're there. Always two faced and never seem real whoever they're around in a messily city.
A city, new home, Killua barley rented an compatible apartment substantially for two before the prices stocked like the needy pigs they are for no apparent reason whatsoever. Thankfully has a stable job to keep up the rent and every other required sources to live a normal, healthy life style.
Everyday seems normal for him and his sister. But it wasn't after four months living here. Which doesn't seem all too bad living here after getting used to the place, even with strange phenomena's happening every day, he doesn't get surprised by the slightest thing that would freak normal with human instincts out.
He often wishes something new adventure than the life he has now but doesn't really have much of choice.
Though, when casually walking down a familiar stone path through the isolated park, void of human life filled with nosy insects filling out the silence, Killua senses something off. Stopping to a standstill and stiffens when hearing a low growl somewhere off to his left. Silencing the bugs that made his skin crawl.
He wasn't sure if this was some sort of joke or some hungry animal simply looking for spare food to satisfy their hunger. So he kept waiting to see what would happen. Not bother moving or peeping out anything that'll trigger ones tendencies.
The growl sounded closer the more he waited, audible footsteps that sounded too heavy for a small wild creature or a cat, growl indicating differences from a dogs fiery growl when angry and defensive. Twigs were lightly snapped behind a bush to his left, as if it weren't trying to be sneaky.
Having whatever creature behind the bush being brave enough to attack even when knowing it's been heard made his skin crawl with goosebumps. So he carefully reaches for his pocket knife inside his front of pockets and lets it fling open.
Now he's prepared for whatever is gonna happen. Whether it's an animal or person waiting behind a pile of leaves, growl ever so gradually getting louder, he's ready.
"Whoever's out there, I won't hesitate to defend myself even if I have to hurt you. Let's just handle this situation peacefully if you don't wanna fight, cause neither do I." He spoke aloud. Unsure if they understood or it was just a animal.
Strangely, the growling stops completely. The air surrounding them now dead silent. Killua lowers down his weapon and waits. Eyes are focused on the bush for who knows how long before something jumps from being the bush so fast that Killua lost his balance and letting the knife fall.
Heavy weight sitting was on his chest with wet substance licking his face causing Killua to be straight confused and mortified at the same time. Attempts of pushing the heavy, warm blooded thing off was futile.
"Ai! Where did you go? Oh?" A male voice suddenly came around the bush sounding short of breath. Coming to a halt a few feet away to watch the scene before him, expression confused and unamused.
The newcomer didn't seem bothered by the scene, instead whistles and calls whatever was licking Killuas face to come over.
