8. Superhero/Superpowers

Gon despises he source of power he grasped.

Obtaining his power when turning around at the age of six. An age where most people gain their unknown power, some earlier or later for others. Mostly common around that age. Unlike hitting puberty but with powers.

  All powers are unique. Never have been any sources where ones the exact same. There are included attachments where people put two separate persons to compare power.

  Explanations given for both later saying minor differences between the two, concluding both have completely different pros and cons, weaknesses and strengths. In the end, no one hasn't had the same exact power.

  Even with twins oddly enough.

The power Gon has is having the ability to teleport, not really though, more like running at such intense speed that even the best speed detectors in the world can't sense him in time. Invisible to cameras when running out of shot.

Gon only finds it useful when saving someone and catching stuff in time before touching the grounds surface.

  Also running late.

Some people say it's cool whenever he uses his power, friends and family envy him wishing they can move fast without dying of breath by simply jogging.

He doesn't argue with them about how they're power is much more efficient since it's pointless, they're way to far gone for their minds to change opinions of his super natural power. So he accepts everything handed to him and not take it for granted.

Today, he saved another person near his age crossing the street from getting by loaded truck who wasn't able to stop in time. The person was star stuck when placed down on both feet to avoid hitting the ground. Gon gave a worried expression towards the saved person asking if he was hurt.

  The person merely nods and blushes of the close proximity, Gon notices, he stands back looking apologetic for lack of personal space.

  Staring back at the person who looks unscathed and untouched. Clear of injury. He sighed in relieved since he caught a near tragic accident in time and saved the stranger without hesitation.

  "Please be aware of your surroundings next time, okay? There won't always be hero near by to save your life." Gon tells the frightened soul who nods in response. Looking quite guilty for not knowing any better.

  "It happens, so please, just pay attention."

The next minor incident is with the same stranger a few weeks ago, who nearly drops his phone when falling out of his hands right beside him. He shys away and mumbled a low thanks.

What's with that guy anyways?

Gon wonders.

    Gon hates fighting crime late out at night.

Stopping powerless thugs who have nothing better to do except being a nuisance towards society, using his full speed to pound them into the harsh cold ground with a fist to the face as they wait for the cops to arrive. Let letting them out of his sight.

"Thank you once again. We need more people like you who put their powers into heroic use." A cop says as he hand cuffs the wounded theif, turning around to give Gon an pissed off look. Gon wasn't fazed behind his mask, eyes bore into the soulless ones that are dead of human empathy and emotions.

  "No problem officer. Anything to help and capture when necessary." Not bothering to comment about the hero stuff, cause it's painfully true to today's society.

People use their power only for popularity and shameless worship gains the ones who are below them. Using them as to impress, get money, abusing power to get what they want in society and not really carrying for people who need help.

Not everyone is like that, but with who actually help aren't enough to bring this world come a little closer instead bringing diversity of power or leadership.

It's sad, really. Yeah Gon could use his power for money gain and fame or whatever, but he's just not that type of selfish person he is no matter the exclusive offer. Besides, his life is going fine the way it is.

  And what's wrong with getting free cookies as a treat for helping people out? He thinks that's a pretty sweet deal.

He sees the familiar white fluff of hair entering his workshop of handcrafted items and turns to greet him, busing himself behind the counter crafting a necklace.

"Oh? How may I help you today?"

"Um, nothing. I wanted to give you something as a thanks for helping those unpredictable times. Hope I'm not intruding." The boy shyly approaches. Holding a small blue gift bag.

  Gons brows rose, pausing, this is new. A guy handing him a thoughtful gift and not girls or old women he helped awhile back. It wasn't unusual to receive a gift, oddly, never a guy. He only gets a thanks and go on with their day. This was surprisingly new to him.

He resumes his work before saying, "Thank you. Just place it on the counter and hold a sec." Not seeing what kind of reaction the guy had, Gon focus on the task at hand. Much for the others patiences made things easier. As much thought he put hard effort into this project..

Smiling when finished. Gon looks up to the obedient stranger who's calmly scrolling on his phone. Probably playing a game with the tongue sticking out.

  Gon coughs. Getting the guys full attention.

"Here. I actually thought of you the last time we met and I think you're interesting. Can we be friends?"

The guy was taken back, hesitating of taking the round sapphire necklace shining brightly inside the building for free. Gon tells him it's fine and planned on giving to him as a welcome gift anyways.

  "Looks good on you. Do you like it?"

  The other nods. Pink coating his cheeks of the casual compliment that shouldn't mean anything.

Gon was finally able to see his profound gift. A black bracelet that says "Hero" in neon green. He founds it amusing but appreciates it nonetheless. Next some, what seems to be homemade cookies. An energy drink. Finally a pair of work gloves.

"Just thought you work hard here of the stuff here. Hope I'm not going to far."

  Gon smiles fondly. He felt like crying a little bit for someone mentioning his hard efforts besides minimal hero work.

"No, you're quite alright. Thank you so much."

They stayed quiet after a while. Letting them adjust to this setting as Killua when Gon asks for his name, he takes a bite of a cookie before offering one to Killua. He took the cookie looking happy and takes a bite.

Gon asks what his power was. Killua saddens and says he has no one power.

"Well, I think your ability to make delicious cookies is a pretty amazing power if I do say so myself." He jokingly tells Killua to lighten his spirits and the intention worked when Killua chuckles. A cute chuckle with a low bashful thanks.

 
Oh shit.

 

I think I just fell in love.

 

He's convinced.

 

It's official.

 

Being cute is his super power.
