Shawn's POV
"You did a great job."
"Thank you," I said. I smiled at Mr. Fuentes, one member of the board. Hindi ko talaga mapigilang matuwa dahil mukhang tanggap na talaga nila ako. I am young and doesn't have any experience in ruling a company. But I think, I can also do great while learning a lot of things.
Pumasok na ako sa office ko pagkalabas ko ng meeting room. I sat at my swivel chair and started working again. Since I have a huge successful company in my shoulders and millions of people under my command, I have tons of work. Hindi ko ito pwedeng hayaan dahil siguradong mabibigo ko si Papa at pati na din si ate.
"Sir?"
I looked at the door when I heard my secretary's voice. Sinenyasan ko si Paula na pumasok at kaagad siyang sumunod. Huminto siya sa harapan ng table ko at inabot sa akin ang telepono.
"Chairman wants to talk to you, Sir."
Kumunot ang noo ko sa sinabi niya. Si Lolo? Since he's the former chairman of Montefalco Crown and almost everyone knows him, sigurado akong siya ang tinutukoy ni Paula.
I didn't say anything at kinuha na lang ang telepono. Paula slightly bowed and left my office. I placed the telephone against my right ear and rested my back. "Hello, Lolo."
"Hi, apo. Are you busy right now?"
I glanced at my laptop and the papers in my table for a bit. I am busy right now but I still have time. "No. Bakit po?"
"Good!" He yelled with joy. Napangiti na lang ako dahil mukhang good mood siya. "After work, come to the mansion. We have a celebration."
"What's the occasion?"
"We will just celebrate some things. Pumunta ka dito, ha? Dapat kompleto tayo."
I nodded even if he can't see me. "Okay po."
We only bid our good-bye and ended the call. I placed the telephone in the table and rested my back again. Bahagya akong tumingala at napahinga ng malalim.
"Kompleto..." I whispered.
We have united. Our relationship with each other is getting stronger every day. Maayos na ang lahat at nagkapatawaran na. Tahimik na ang buhay naming lahat kahit na nananatili pa din kami sa loob ng mapanganib ng mundo.
But I am thinking, are we really complete? Matatawag bang kompleto ang pamilya namin kung... wala si Mama?
Mahina na lang ako natawa habang inaalala ang mga nangyari. Mama begged me to kill her. My first kill happened when I was seven years-old. And the worst part is, si Mama pa ang pinakaunang taong pinatay ko.
But of course, at first, I hesitated. I was just a kid back then and I can't understand things very well. Pero alam ko sa sarili ko na hindi ko kayang saktan si Mama at lalo na ang patayin siya. But instead of giving up, she hurted herself. She bumped her head on the floor to make herself bleed. Hindi ko naintindihan noon kung anong ginagawa niya. Ang akala ko din, hindi na niya ako pipilitin. But she suddenly fetch a knife and handed it to me.
She kneeled in front of me. She begged. She cried. And when she told me na sa oras na hindi ko ito gawin, si Ate naman ang mamamatay. She explained it to me. She told me what I need to know. Dahil sobrang bata ko pa noon, hindi ko iyon naintindihan. Pero isang bagay ang tumatak sa isipan ko, at iyon ang protektahan ang kapatid ko. That I need to do something so nothing won't happen to my sister. That I need to protect her.
