Day Of Departure

I woke up to the voice of Ed Sheeran singing Thinking Out Loud on my alarm clock. I was wondering why I set my alarm clock for 3 in the morning. Then I remembered today is when Mack and I are leaving for London. I put on a pair of sweatpants and a sweatshirt. Then I grabbed my suitcase and headed down the stairs where you saw my whole family waiting to say goodbye to me.

This was a very sad moment for me and my family. I walked up to my 5 year-old brother, Brendan, and gave him the biggest hug, because it is going to be awhile before I saw him again. Then, I walked up to my 15 year old sister Payton. I said bye and gave her a hug. However, it wasn't as big as the one I had given to my mom and dad.

I was going to miss them all so much. All the sudden I started to shed some tears. After I said all my goodbyes, I drove over to Mack's house to pick her up. I wasn't long before I see Mack come out her front door with tear stained cheeks and red, puffy eyes.

"Are you okay?" I asked, concerned.

"Yeah, I'll be fine just keep going before I regret this." She answered, quietly while pulling the seatbelt across herself. I drove off and the car ws filled with a comfortable silence.

When we had finally made it to the airport, it was like a mad house there! I was terrified, because this will be the first time I will have gone on an airplane. Thankfully, Mack has been on more plane rides then she can probably count.

We made our way through security surprisingly quickly. Once we were done with security, we made our way over to the terminal.

This is the moment we have been anticipating. I stopped dead in my tracks. I just couldn't beleive it. We were finally chasing our dreams!

"Flight 18 to London is now boarding." The lady at the podium said.

We looked at each other then we looked at the airport. I was going to miss home, but I knew on the end this would all be worth it.

---------------

It's been about three hours since the plane took off, which means we have another 8 hours until we get off this plane. I was never going to be able to sleep because I'm terrified of airplanes.

Of course Mack was asleep. She could sleep through anything. She's one of those people that goes to bed at 5 in the morning and doesn't wake up till 1 in the afternoon. She could probably sleep longer it's just that her mom wakes her up. She would choose sleep over anything.

I was getting extremely bored. So I decided to watch the movie John Tucker Must Die. About halfway through the movie, Mack woke up and she started freaking out for some reason.

"Oh my god! Where am I? Why am I not in my bed?" she started shouting. Then she fell asleep again. It must of been one of those weird things she does in her sleep. She sleep talk and sleep walks. She's a lot weirder then she looks, but that's why I love her.

---------------

Finally we landed in London. I woke up Mack and we rushed out of the airplane so that we could find a taxi. Once we jumped in an empty taxi, it took us to our new school.

When we arrived at school, we went straight to the attendance office. We saw a mean looking lady.

"Can I help you?" She snapped at us, with a glare.

"We need to find out what dorm we're in." Mack said, proudly and loudly.

"Okay, fine. What are your names?" she snapped, once again.

"Mackenzie Doyle and Brooklyn Williams." Mack said, obviously getting annoyed, which probably wasn't good because she hasn't eaten yet today, and we all know how Mack gets without food.

"Okay, you two are in dorm room 147. The building is that one right across the street." She said as she pointed to the huge and beautiful building.

"Okay, thanks." I said as Mack and I grabbed the key to our dorm and ran off.

We unlocked the door to our dorm room, and walked in the room. It was all white everything.

Of course there was nothing in the room yet, other than two beds, two desks and two dressers. Mack and I were planning on going to the store today to buy stuff that will fill up our room.

After we unpacked we decided to go and look at the stores for bed sheets and a bunch of stuff for our dorm. As soon as we got to the street with all the stores, all we heard was screaming.

"Woah. I wonder what all that is for." Mack said curiously.

"Who cares, Lets just go into that store and find out." I said, also curious.

We walked up to the store pushing through all the screaming girls. As soon as we got up to the store it was pointless. No one was aloud in it because there were some famous people in there. Those people were some boy band that my sister listens to.

"Okay, who cares lets just go to another store." I said to Mack.

We went to a few more stores before we decided it was time to make our way back to our dorm.

After about 3 hours of decorating we had finally finished our room. We both got purple bed sets. Mack wanted blue, but I convinced her to get purple.

Before we knew it, we had to head to out first classes.

---------------

It had been about a month since we started here at school. It wasn't the easiest month ever but we managed. Mack and I have all the same classes and its great.

Today is a Monday and we had our hair styling class today. In each of our hair classes, we normally do challenges with partners and the winner of each challenge gets a prize. Today the prize was extra special.

The prize was that the winners get to be interns for this hairstylist on a huge boy band tour. Mack and I have to win. We have won almost every challenge so far. We got to our classroom and sat down in our usual seats.

"Okay, Ladies. Today we are going to be working on dying hair. You will chose a partner and you and your partner will choose which one of you is willing to dye your hair and the other will do the dying. Oh and ladies this is your challenge so try your best." Our professor informed. No way in hell am I dying my hair.

"Okay Mack," I turned towards her with a massive smile. "I'm dying your hair."

"What? No!" Mack yelled loudly.

"Dude, calm down it's only temporary! It'll stay in for like 3 weeks." I explained.

"Then why don't you do it?" She yelled again.

"Because, the color will look better in your hair because you have blonde hair. My hair color could make the dye look darker!" I satiated. That was bullshit. I just don't want to dye my hair, but I know she'll fall for it.

"Fine, but you better make us win. I'm sacrificing my hair." she said with a fake frown.

I read the instructions on the box for the hair dye, then I started to dye Mack's hair. There was an hour time limit on the challenge and I finished her hair in just that amount of time.

Her hair didn't look half bad. It was a vibrant bright red, but of course, she freaked out.

"Why did you do red? Why couldn't you have done brown or something!" She yelped.

"Mack calm down it will wash out in a couple of weeks." I reminded. trying to calm her down.

"Okay, Ladies. Time to choose the winner." The professor said.

She went down the line telling people that they didn't win. Eventually, it was down to two groups, Me and Mack and some other girls I didn't really know.

"Okay we've decided girls." She said again. I was so nervous because if we didn't win Mack would probably kill me.

"The winner is Mackenzie and Brooklyn." She stated and both of our jaws dropped. Both of us started jumping up and down screaming.
