Daniel looked around this new environment, out of breath and trembling. He spent a few minutes sitting on a fallen tree, catching his breath and assessing the situation he had found himself in. He stood up and walked towards a small pond, the leaves crunching under his feet. The forest smelled of pine, which wasn't a bad smell to be stuck with until things cooled down outside. Daniel had heard stories of native furries in the Kolto Forest, but it seemed like made up stories to keep kids out of the forest. He had thought that, until he heard a rustle in the bushes. Whatever it was, it was certainly happier to see Daniel than he was to see it. The creature seemed to size Daniel up, before disappearing into the treeline. Daniel walked for quite some time, before seeing something. "Who just leaves a basket of bread in the woods? Oh, well. Guess it's mine now. I haven't eaten yet, so this'll be great." He walked towards the basket. As soon as he picked it up, the ground beneath him collapsed, dropping him into a 6 meter deep hole. He stared upwards, as that creature from earlier stared back. The legends were true. Native furries did live in these woods. The cat monster above him scoffed. "You are not what I am looking for. How did you even get here, anyways? I thought they transformed all the humans." Daniel stared back in disbelief. He had just heard this monster speak to him, in a language he could understand. He stammered out a response, at a loss of words. "Well, you, uh, see, I uh, am immune to that technology, and, uh, I-I was just, I was just hiding until things cooled down." The monster looked to the side, annoyed. "It's not technology; it's magic." The monster jumped down to Daniel. "So, what's your name, anyways?," The monster asked him. "I'm um, Daniel. Daniel Willows." Daniel spoke sheepishly, because he knew this monster could hurt him badly if she felt like doing so. "I see. I'm Ivy." Ivy scanned Daniel's features.  "You seem like a neutral type; not willing to hurt anyone unless they attack you first." Daniel chuckled softly. "Haha, yeah, you got that right. Uhh, so could we maybe get the hell out of this hole?" He asked, a bit more comfortable around Ivy. Ivy looked up to the hole's opening, and grabbed ahold of Daniel. She bounded out, landing Daniel on safe ground. "Listen, I hate this takeover as much as you do. So maybe I can work with you to stop it. I'll get back to my village and alert the mage, she'll be willing to help. Stay here." Ivy sprinted away into the trees, leaving Daniel confused, and alone.
