Sam woke up from a long sleep, her messy golden hair sprawling down her back. She got up from the bed, turning to look in the mirror. Her incredibly bright blue orbs stared back at her, and she played with a naturally curled strand of suntouched hair. She sighed. "Why am I so ugly?"
She got dressed, putting on a flannel shirt and black shorts. She groaned once more. "This is literally all I own."
She heads to school, holding her books close to her chest. As she walked to the entrance, she spotted the loads of cheerleaders beside the football players. She turned her gaze away from them, groaning once more. "What a bunch of idiots." Suddenly, she felt herself hit a wall. She stumbled back simultaneously as she was grabbed by strong rough hands, looking up to see HIM. Wesley Grey?! He was the most popular football player on the team!
"Woah! Watch where you're going," he said with a perfectly smirky smirk, holding her back from him. She stepped back, swiping back a piece of golden hair that fell in her face. He wasn't terribly tall, but wow did he have muscles! His dark hair was messily tousled on his head, and his gunmental blue orbs stared at her. He smirked again (or was he already smirking?), "hello? Earth to..."
"Sam," she suddenly said. "Sam Foster."
"Sam Foster, huh?" Wes asked, crossing his large burly arms over his chest. "Why haven't I noticed you before?"
"I'm the new girl," she answered. She was always the new girl, moving from school to school. She could only hope that her mom wouldn't pick them up and move again. Suddenly, she saw a flash of red hair.
Scarlett Stark had a perfect oval face and a smirk to match it. She could get any guy in the school (and let's be honest, if she wanted, any girl too). She set an arm over Wes' shoulder, looking at Sam through a face of makeup. "Who's this?"
"It's no one, babe," Wes answered, turning towards her. Sam nearly gagged at the gesture. Scarlett Stark was beautiful but she was so ANNOYING!
"Are you so insecure that you have to check up on your boyfriend every ten minutes?" Sam directed at the girl. Scarlett pursed her lips, narrowing her eyes. "I mean, with a personality like yours, I guess I'd have to make sure they'd stay faithful too." Students around them suddenly jumped in on this, laughing at her comment. Scarlett opened her mouth in shock, but Sam quickly ducked out of the way before anything more could be said.
"Sam! Sam!" She turned to see Zero Parker running up to her, a pile of books in his hands. "What were you thinking? Do you know who you just spoke to?!"
"An insecure idiot?"
"Shush! You can't let people hear you say that!" Zero quickly looked around, adjusting his dorky glasses. "The footballers were finally leaving me alone! Now they'll see you with me, and they'll remember I exist-"
"Zero, you should learn to stand up to them. You can't let them push you around like that!" She answered, reaching her locker. She opened it, stuffing her books inside.
