"I really had a good time," my heels clicked on the concrete as he walked on the side of me holding my waist.
"I'm glad, I won't lie I was a little nervous." He played with his dreads.
"I was too. I haven't been on a date in a while. It was nice." The date consisted of dinner at LongHourn Steak House and frozen yogurt after. I wasn't a big fan of ice cream and even though he was I was glad he shifted his ice cream plans for me.
"You're beautiful," his hands pushed my hair behind my ears making a little smile appear. Besides Xavier I never had a man touch on me or call me beautiful. King did it but I had to remind myself plenty of times that it was friendly and nothing more.
"And you're handsome," I mumbled covering my face not wanting to show my ugly smile that showed all thirty of my teeth.
"You like me enough to give a goodnight kiss?"
Really wanting to say no, I looked at the hopeful face he held and didn't want to risk getting any anger.
"If you have to ask maybe I shouldn't," I looked afar chuckling at his facial expression. "I'm kidding, you can get a little peck."
"Just a little one," he joked back bending down placing his soft lips on mine.
Licking over my lips I tasted Carmex and I placed the key in the door not knowing what else to say as he stared at me like I was the last pack of chicken during a pandemic.
"Text me when you get home."
"I will, goodnight."
"Goodnight," I hummed.
Locking the door I couldn't help the smile that took over my face. I never was on a date, this was the first one. Xavier always hung out with me in our dorm and being homebodies we didn't have to go anywhere to feel the connection.
It was time I broke out of that because with that mindset I'll never get anywhere.
"You look stuck on stupid." King stared at me placing a spoonful of fruity pebbles in his mouth and texting on his phone. "It was good?"
"Yea, it was nice. I like him," I walked over holding my heels going over to him with my mouth opened wanting a spoonful.
Scrunching his face up at me, he scooted his bowl closer not wanting to share. "Please," I whined as he got up moving back from me laughing.
"Chill," he pushed me back a little. Fake being mad I stomped off going in my room, I just didn't feel like making my own bowl.
Taking my dress of I placed it in the hamper and dramatically sighed unhooking my bra. I didn't have much but the bra made my back feel like we were carrying watermelons.
