Min Min worked peacfully in her ramen shop. She did her normal thing of taking orders, cleaning tables, and even cooking at times. She enjoyed this work as it was a way for her to decompress, while still being very active. She loved being apart of the ARMS league, but at times it could be too much, and she would need a break or two. She sighed peacfully, and let out a soft smile. She did a small stretch of her arms, appreciated how it felt to have normal arms and not spring arms.
The peace was suddenly broken when an extremely familiar face walked through the door. "Is that Ninjara...?" Min Min raises an eyebrow, as he looked completely different out of uniform. He liked to keep his hair in a bun, but in a more loose bun, and he just wore track pants, and a long sleeve, despite the weather. "What're you doing here...?" Min Min asked as she walked over to him. "Getting ramen, of course." Ninjara' japanese sounding accent was a bit noticeable, but no one thought anything of it.
"Okay I'll have that for you right away then..." Min Min left off a small giggle, then pointed to a small table of two beside the window facing the ocean. "I'll be right back." Ninjara nodded, and took a seat in the chair. He was so light on his feet you couldn't hear his steps, probably from all of his practice.
Min Min ran to the back, and wrote down the order, and put it down. "One ramen please." She said quietly, then walked back to the table. Min Min walked past a table used by a family. One of the children was wearing a Min Min price of merchandise. Specifically, the kind her fans would wear to her matches. Min Min's eyes widened, she knew she was popular with kids but wasn't the biggest fan of being recognized...
Min Min sat down in front of Ninjara, her knees touching as she sat down. Ninjara had his arms crossed, and looked as if he was not bothered by the wait time. "So uhh..." Min Min said to said conversation. "How was it...?" Ninjara scoffed quietly. "You saw didn't you?" Ninjara said in a smug manor. Min Min giggled. "Is a loss that important to you...? You were on a steak of about 6 losses before!" Ninjara still looked as smug as ever. "That's not the point. The point is it was to that guy!" Min Min raised an eyebrow. "That guy...?" Min Min tried her best to remember, then tried not to laugh.
"Well uhh... I guess I'll go get your ramen." Min Min quickly walked to the counter. Spring Man? Really? Min Min tried her best to not think of it, because if she laughed to hard she would drop the ramen. She picked up the warm bowl, and tried to avoid a small family wearing Min Min merchandise, as she hated being recognized. She then served Ninjara with a smile. "It's on the house." Min Min said as she sat down.
Ninjara nodded, and began eating. Min Min sat down with him, and took off the cloth she wore on her hair while working, exposing her yellow hair. She sighed and melted in her chair. "Break time..." Ninjara gave a soft smile, as seeing Min Min completely calm is a rare site. Min Min took out her phone and gave a worried look. "Wow it's all over the news... was it that bad...?" Ninjara almost chocked on his ramen.
"Kh-! I cant believe I lost to him..." Min Min sighed. "It says... Ninjara Loses to Spring Man After a Win Streak of Six... yikes..." Ninjara looked away in embarrassment. "I don't even know how he beat me..." Min Min's eyes widened. "He's actually gonna go up against someone in the ARMS arena right by us!" Min Min looked outside to see it.
Ninjara finished his ramen. "I kinda want to go to his match... just to see what his strategy is..." Min Min took off her apron and hung it up. "Okay! Let's go!" Ninjara raised an eyebrow. "Really? Aren't tickets expensive?" "Not if you're in the ARMS league!" Min Min replied, then winked. "I'm gonna go get the rest of the day off really quick."
Min Min jogged to the counter, and briefly discussed with a small woman with gray hair. She turned to Ninjara, and gave a thumbs up. Ninjara stood up, and they both walked through the door and to the stadium.
Upon arriving, Min Min and Ninjara were confused. In the background, idol-sounding pop music played, and the arena looked like a dance floor. Spring Man wasn't one of the more feminine and stylish fighters, and purple wasn't quite his color.
"I don't think this stage belongs to Spring Man..." Ninjara said quietly. "Yeah... but the article said it was his match..." suddenly, the lights shut off and the speaker turned on.
"Welcome to one of the first matches before our first grand prix!" The voice belonged to Biff, the iconic face of the ARMS league. "Please welcome The Bouncer himself, Spring Man!"
Ninjara's eyes widened as he heard the name. The Bouncer was a common nickname for Spring Man, and it wasn't uncommon for his fans to call him that on social media. Spring Man entered in his iconic outfit, flexing and smiling. He waved to his fans and smiled brightly.
"Please also welcome the newest addition to the ARMS league... Ribbon Girl!" Ribbon Girl herself walked through the doors on the other side. "The Pop Star?!" Min Min said in confusion. Upon entering, Ribbon Girl waved and blew a kiss to a Spring Man fan. She didn't have a fan base yet, but everyone could tell that was gonna change.
The two competitors stood across from each other on the dance floor. "One..." they both uncoiled their arms and equipped their desired arms "Two..." Ribbon Girl smirked, and winked at Spring Man from across the room. "Three..." they both looked like a cat ready to pounce on a mouse. "ARMS!" Biff said loudly.
One if Ribbon Girl's most popular songs began playing, and Ribbon Girl ran across to Spring Man. She had equipped the Sparky and Popper. She jumped with such speed, and even hoped on air. Her arms were already charged, and she punched Spring Man in the stomach. Spring Man groaned as both of his arms uncoiled completely for a bit. "Gah-! What the hell...?"
Ribbon Girl then grabbed Spring Man, and given him and side hug, and posed in front of a fan holding a phone. Ribbon Girl then tossed him across the room. "Ribbon~!" She said as she threw him. It was widely known that ARMS fighters should have a few catchphrases, as being good at the sport was only half of it. The other half was acting as a symbol and being famous.
Spring Man landed against the wall and groaned. His fans looked worried, and cheered words of affirmations. Spring Man jumped up and smiled. He had equiped the Toaster and Boomerang. He hit Ribbon Girl in the side with the Boomberang, causing her to groan. "Ouch-!" She rubbed her side, and looked up. She expected to see Spring Man running around, but was met with a toaster to the face.
Ribbon Girl was launched back, and the stage had changed. The tiles had risen in front of her! She giggled, and went to the side with Spring Man and had launched a popper at his back. He turned with anger. "H-Hey-!" Ribbon Girl giggled, and saw Spring Man tried to grab her. She jumped up, and dodged his grab! Ribbon Girl then gave Spring Man a punch using the Sparky.
Spring Man attempted the grab again, he was probably the most popular fighter, but was still extremely stubborn. Ribbon Girl layed on the floor, allowing the grab to go above her. She sweeped his legs, and he fell. She jumped up, and used the Popper and Sparky at the same time, causing Spring Man to stay down for more than 10 seconds.
"Ribbon Girl wins round 1! The Bouncer is down!" The Spring Man fans tried to cheer for him to get up. Spring Man eventually got up, and gave a weak smile. His shirt was a bit dirty from being punched too hard.
Min Min looked very shocked, but this was not true for Ninjara. Ninjara smiled and gave a small cheer. Was he rooting for Ribbon Girl? Did he really hate Spring Man that much? Min Min raised an eyebrow. "Wow... you really don't like him..." Ninjara nodded and chuckled. "Glad someone is showing him how to properly act for once."
