The Z's

Part 2: Mark

As Ty fell I rushed over to catch him and he passed out in my arms . "Well there he goes." I heard Lara say with a sigh I could tell she was a little tired from that shield and looked frustrated with the situation "But Ty usually finds the next safe house." Ava said with a worry in her voice again. She was right, Ty made all the plans and I just helped execute them, I was just a sidekick s good one, but one nonetheless. Usually when we moved it was all planned out, but this one was unexpected. I stood there with Ty still in my arms unconscious and Allyse looked at him with worry in her eyes and then looked at me and asked" Well Mark what next move is?"

I was a little taken aback why she was asking me. I'm just as lost as everyone to be honest. Is it because I'm the only other male or because I help Ty out with plans, if you can call it that. More like he made a plan and I was more so the muscle that helped get the plan done. Either way they were all looking at me now for guidance.

I'm not Ty, I'm not a leader like he is. I don't even know how he does it. He always seems like he just knew where to go with any thought. I had to focus though because Ty couldn't help us, I had to be here for them now, I had to step up. "Ty said he saw a town or something not far from here, right?" I asked. "Yea and?" Lara asked I could hear in her voice she didn't like where this was heading. I didn't know where I was headed myself to be honest but I had to think of something.

"We hide on the outskirts of the town and gather some supplies till Ty recovers and then move on to the next safe house" I told them. I looked around then unsure how they were going to react.

Lara was the first to respond "That the best you could think of really!? That's crazy what if someone sees us!" I could clearly tell she was not in favor of this plan and if i'm honest i can't blame her. "She is right Mark, it's a big risk going to a town full of people." Allyse told me. I hate to admit but they were right, but I don't think we have much of an option without Ty. I was lost, but if he was here he would tell me to trust in my instinct so i did.

"I know it's a risk, but we don't really have much of an option. Ty is the one who always finds the safe house I don't know how but he does. We can't stay here or the trackers will find us. At least in a town of people most of us can blend in and lay low for a little while until Ty wakes up. It's not the safest option but it's the best and only one we got for now." I told them.

They all looked at me questionably, but I can see that they realized what I did. We didn't have many options if any, and even less with Ty down. "Alright let's go" Allyse said with uncertainty in her voice but tried to reassure everyone with a tiny smile. Lara picked up Ava and I grabbed Ty and threw him over my shoulder nodding at Allyse. "Come on," I said.

I hope that Ty got us close enough to the town that it wouldn't be a far walk. I was walking ahead of the girls and I looked to check on them. They all seem a little tired but after what we just thought that makes sense. "Mark wait up!'' Allyse called out to me . She was close behind and sped up to chase up to me. "Hey Allyse what's up?" I asked her. "How long do you think Ty will be out this time?" She was clearly worried about her brother but trying to hide it. "Honestly I don't know jumping takes a lot out of him, even more so when it's unplanned, but I'm sure he will wake up soon he is strong" I told her. I was trying to reassure her, she looked up and smiled at me, but had still had a worried look on her face. Ty was all she had left and just wanted to make sure he was okay and I understood that. "Even with my strength, Ty is the strongest one of us all he will be fine Allyse." When I said that she looked up at me and smiled that beautiful smile I loved. That smile always lit up my day, Allyse didn't know but I have been in love with her since we first met.

I met Ty and Allyse a little after the world decided the best course of action was separate but equal. Then the rumors started flying that they were experimenting on us. I was in hiding like most Z's for almost a year trying to stay off the radar and blend in.
