The Z's

Part 4 : Allyse

Ty had been up for a few hours now and he seems fine, though I was still worried. He jumped us before, but not without prepping first and never did it blind before he always knew where we were going, and this time he woke much in a day. I'm worried that he hasn't fully recovered. Ava breaks me from my thoughts. "Hey Allyse you ok?" She asked with her head tilted with a look of concern on her face. I smiled at her cuteness and said "Yea love I'm good just thinking." she smiled back at me and walked back over to Laura.

These two were attached at the hip, it was almost as if they were real sisters the way that they acted. But they have been through a lot together, probably as much as Ty and I have, so it only makes sense. We all spend the day prepping for the supply run. Ty, Mark, and I came with a game plan for tonight so it would all run smooth, in and out. Laura and Ava would stay at camp, their powers would let them shield and hide the camp. The rest of us would go to the city around nightfall to gather what we could get out.

The sun was setting and it was going to get dark soon, I know this is a risky plan but I know it is the only one that gets out the fastest and I know we got this . "You're right," Ty says, looking at me. I look back smiling cause these were my favorite words. Then it hit me. I never actually said anything.

"Ty what have told you about reading my mind" I yelled at him! He rubbed the back of my head knowing how I felt about it. " I'm sorry that the last jump took more of me then I thought I'm finding it hard to control my power a little bit" he told me.

I look back at him with shock that's never happened before. He has jumped all before, but he has never lost control over his powers, it is because he has fully recovered like I thought. Should we actually go through with him when he doesn't have full control . I looked over at him and he probably heard my mind going a mile a min. "Calm down little sis i'll be fine remember we got thist" He said with a smile on his face. That smile always reassured me that everything was going to be ok, but this time I saw something for a second behind the smile like Ty was unsure himself, but it faded so quickly I'm not sure. I waved it off as me overthinking as I tend to do. " I'm going to link us so that we can stay in contact." Ty said as he closed his eyes and I could feel him in his mind. It feels like he knocked on my brain's front door waiting to be let in. Once I let him in I felt everyone and we were all connected now too.

" I'll set up a fire to keep you warm and will reinforce the shelter too. We shouldn't be long, ''I told lara. " Thanks Ally and you guys stay safe out there and don't do anything risky" she told us and said the last part looking dead at Ty. Mark and I chuckled a little as Ty held his hands up in defeat

I summoned the heat in the air around to light the fire. Just as I was about to light the fire wood Mark stood up with a look of concern on his face. " Hold on I think I hear something nearby"' he told us, looking around trying to pinpoint where the sound came from. We are all at the ready now Laura guarding Ava. I keep the fire I conjured in my hand just in case I would use on something else, or someone else. Ty closed his eyes like he did when he needed to concern. When he opened his eyes he pointed his hand out and we all looked in the direction it was a boy about our age.

Ty dropped the guy in front of us, but just laid there. We all looked around trying to figure out what to do next. Just as I was about to say something to the others the guy starts getting up.

We all turned to him. He looked around back facing us and let out a sigh and then laughed a little bit, We were all a little bit confused. I tapped him on the shoulder and he stiffened so fast. He turned slowly and looked at all of us he was so scared his face almost looked white, but then again he was white. Ty looked at me then him, he smiled at the boy and said "hey" and next thing we know he is passed out.

"What the fuck, Ty did you do that?" we all looked at Laura who was as confused as the rest of us." No, he just passed out, I didn't do anything I swear" he said while holding his hands up as if to prove he didn't do it. " I don't know what just happened," Ava said, looking around. So many thoughts were going through my mind, But i needed to focus on the main issues at hand. One this boy is clearly not a Z. Two that means he is human and probably going to turn us in. Three we have to figure out what to do with. Since Ty powers don't allow himself to wipe people's minds and Ava illusion would not be helpful right now either. "We got to leave now!!" I heard Laura say.

"I agree with Laura, a human saw us we are no longer safe here." I told Ty

" It was only one and he passed out now, I say we stick to the plan and gather supplies and then head out" Ty said. "How do you know he was alone?" Mark says, looking at Ty. "Telepath, remember I would have heard their thoughts but now" Ty said pointing to his head with a smile on his face. Then Ava asked one question "Are you sure Ty" and with that question I saw something on Ty's face I never seen before, doubt.

No one else noticed but I was with Ty all my life. He just smiled at Ava and nodded and she didn't question it and it seemed to put everyone else at ease too so I left it alone. " What do if and when he wakes up?" Laura asked looking around at the group" Ty and Mark look at every other clearly they had not thought that far ahead, men. " I stay with him and make sure he is ok and that he doesn't run off and tell other people that we are here" I told everyone I looked over at Ty and he smiled and whispered thanks in my head and I smiled back at him. " Laura, you go with the guys and make sure they don't do anything that makes them get caught or killed. I'll protect Ava, I promise " I said. '' Thanks Ally you i will and i know you will'' laura told and i smiled and she hugged me

"Ok then it's all settled Laura, Mark and I will go gather supplies and Allyse and Ava will stay and make sure this guy is ok and we don't get found out" Ty announced to the group with all agreeing with a silent nod and they left.

After they left I remade the hut to help hide me Ava and the boy. I made a little fire to keep us all warm, I started to think about everything that's happened in the last few days. It has been nonstop ever since the trackers found us, and then that guy who stopped. How was he able to see through Ava's illusion? That's the first time something like that has ever happened. As if she could read minds too Ava asked me " Are you thinking about what happened, I'm sorry that I couldn't help but i don't know how he saw i promise i did my best"

I could hear the tears that were threatening to fall. I turned to her and pulled her to my side and rubbed her arm. "It's not your fault you did great, if anything it's the boy's fault for being so slow" i told her trying to cheer her up and it seemed to work she smiled at my comment. I gave her a hug and she hugged back, not longer after that she was asleep. I let her sleep the events of the last few days were a lot for her.

While she slept I looked over to the guy who was still passed out. Just another thing to deal with I thought to myself idk how we were going to but we get through everything and can get through this too. Just then a loud alarm was set off waking both Ava and the mystery guy. " What's going on?" Ava asked, sounds scared and I don't blame her. I'm afraid of myself.

"Oh no," the guy and that didn't help ease my mind at all. " Why Oh no? what happened?" I asked a little more aggressively then I meant to. " Ummm... Thats the Z alarm they either think Z's have entered the city or found them already" He told us. Oh no, Ty and Mark and Laura went to the city and still not back. " Ava get ready we are going to the city we have to help Ty and the others" I said when i turned around she was already up and ready I smiled at her. That's my girl . " You can't the city defenses are probably activate now there is no way you can get in there"

Damn he was right even with my and Ava powers we are outnumbered. "What's your name" I asked the guy. He looked at me nervously at first and then said " It's Ben". "Are you from that city Ben?" I asked him. "Yea my dad is the head of the scouts for the city". " Perfect, you are going to help us rescue our friends" I told him and just looked at me with a look of shook but did not question me, I assume he realized I was not asking. Ty, Laura, Mark we are coming guys just hold on.
