George^^
~~~
I had been stuck on that island for a little over a month now. George had been badly wounded and I was trying to save him. They wouldn't send an aircraft for George, so I had to keep him alive and use whatever we had left. If he didn't stay alive and get through the next stage with me, we loose. And I can't loose. 'Stay alive for Jess and Mom,' I kept telling myself. I was secretly telling myself that Mac was still waiting for me too.
I was sitting in the waiting room, i had forgotten how soft a sofa could be, I had also forgotten how clean smelled. We had been trapped on that island for so long, I was sure to forget basic human duties, and stick to hunting my meals three times a day. The sound of the doctors coming into the waiting room broke my line of thought.
The doctors had been began spilling out of the room George was held up in. The doctor in charge, Mr.Rythough had strutted over towards me.
"Miss im sorry to say that..."
Don't... please don't say he won't make it.
"...he's going to have to stay overnight."
Oh my gosh. He was fine. He was alright. Before I could stop myself I had thrown my arms around the doctors neck, although he had done nothing to consider the fact that I was now hugging him. I released the poor man and went jogging to George's room.
The lights were dimmed, yet i could still make out a wheezing creature in the back, laying on one of the mattresses.
"Did u come to spy on me?" He whispered, finding me in the shadows.
"Didn't think you could see me."
"Im not blind. Plus you were never good at being stealthy."
I stepped into the dim light and walked over to him. His head was bandaged, and from what it looked like, he might have sprained his wrist.
"How are you?" I sat on the edge of the beg, watching his every facial expression hust to make sure i wasn't hurting him.
"Im okay, you're here." I could feel heat rise up to my cheeks, as well as a smile.
"I never got to thank you Finni. I mean I wouldn't be here without you. Im sorry about the island, and that night when..."
"It's okay. I would've done anything." He had taken my hand in his, now watching my expression to see if i was okay with this. I was.
I could hear quiet shuffling behind me; one of the nurses. She had come over to tell me that it was time for him to rest, that he needed to be fully recovered in the morning. But I had asked if i could stay with him; we had grown close during the month and I had become hooked to falling asleep feeling his presence nearby. The nurse let me stay, but only because it was late.
George had pulled me in close and wrapped both his as around me.
"George? Whats going to happen next?" I asked seriously. Taking in the fact that we had to get through five stages.
"I wish we knew, 'cause I know they're planning something else for us."
"I overheard the doctors talking, apparently too many of us survived. They still need to slim the numbers." I said before I shut my eyes.
