I could've sworn i jumped back in fright. I only remember hitting the floor.
I couldn't breathe. No. They had signed a  contract. They wouldnt hurt anyone close to me. Any of my family. Mac is family. Mac is more than family. I... Why? No. They can't do this.

I woke up on an empty mattress, George was nowhere near me.

The same nurse from the night before had walked back into the room. I wanted to ask her where George had gone to.

"Hi? Miss, where did the boy that was sleeping next to me go to?" I asked her quietly.

"Boy?"

Ok. What?

"His name was George. We were on the island together."

"There was never a boy sleeping here sweetheart." She said kindly.

"Only you and your young friend that went out to get something. I saw gum leavingthe room as I entered." She added quickly.

"Oh. Thats him then." I felt relieved, that this what not some hoax they were playing on me.

"Well, take a break honey. You don't look too well."

The nurse checked my forehead, and headed back out of the room.

I closed my eyes, what just happened? Why was I sick? Why did George have to go get something? Why wasnt he lyjng in a hospital bed? What is happening?

The light in the hallway hid the features of the next person that walked through the doorway, yet I could make out the faint smile of a boy. George.

"Hey, you're awake." He said calmly.

"Why'd you leave me? I'm freaking out over here!" I had almost shouted at him.

"Calm down, Finni. Thank gosh you woke up, though." He replied.

"What? Nevermind. What about you?" I pointed to the places that had been bruised and wounded from the night before.

"What? I healed. Thats what happens over time..." He said foolishly.

"George those couldn't possibly heal over night!" My voice had began to rise just a tad bit, as I began to sit up.

"Overnight? You've been out for almost a week now!" He had gripped my shoulders and pulled me into a hug so tight, I might've 'passed' out again. I think it was to stop me from talking.

"Finni, I've been here this whole time. Waiting for you to get up."

"But... you were injured, and sickly and what? How did i pass out?"

"When you fell asleep, with - with me, you kinda rolled off and hit your head. You were diagnosed with a tiny concussion." He made me lie back down on the hospital bed.

I had been out for a whole week and I can't remember anything.

I took a deep breath and pull George in to hug me, but he really couldn't because i was lying down. He laughed and lied on the bed next to me, while I made space for him on the slim mattress.

"Try not to fall off this time." He joked.

"I'll do what I want George." I said in between spurts of laughter  because he was trying to move my hair out of his way, so he could rest his head on my shoulder.

"Go to sleep." He said swishing me.

George was recommended to leave by one of the doctors later on. He had woken us up and carefully ushered him out so that I would be fully ready to begin training again tomorrow.
