The morning seemed normal as Andy ate her breakfast and chatted with her friends, but she could tell something was up, between the glances they shot each other and the tense energy that filled the room. She just couldn't place it. It'd been a week since she ended things with Robert, and the questions she constantly dodged about the man who'd visited had died down, though Jack pestered her about the secrets far too often. They never did "talk later," seeing how she took an extra shift and went rock climbing twice while off duty just to avoid being home. This was also a wise way of utilizing the burst of energy she felt from the excitement of Rosie getting a spot in the trial.
When she emptied her bowl, she joined Travis at the island to talk to him while he marinated the chicken for dinner. As Jack emptied his bowl, Maya stood, calling out the chores for each member of the station, though when she got to Andy, she exchanged her names, saying,
"Annalise, check the hoses," before continuing the orders. Andy nodded slightly and turned down the hall towards the stairs.
It didn't take long for her to realize something was wrong. She was amazed how easily things slipped when she was never in detective mode anymore. Still, the detective in her could never be removed completely. When she turned back, the team was glancing at one another. She'd been caught. All she felt was anger.
"How do you know my name?" She asked, defensively. When she received no answer, she repeated herself more forcefully. "How the fuck do you know my name?" But the truth was, she didn't need someone to answer. Her eyes fell on Jack.
"We all knew something was up," Maya stated. "No one on this team can trust you. How are we supposed to work with you when we cant trust you in a fire? A live fire, Andy... I mean Annalise. We thought Jack might know something because you live together." She shot him a look and for a moment, he wondered if he'd ever be forgiven. He reminded himself she always came around. Sometimes it took longer than necessary, but she'd find her way to forgiveness.
"I heard you fighting with Rosie," he began to explain, not wanting to let this all be for nothing. "You were upset after that and you're refusing to tell me what you had to do with those people."
"I seem to remember a time when everyone in this room brought you in here and while I might not have been here that day, I was told it didn't go too well." She looked back to her team. "I'm good at my job, I can work in a team. No one has died because you don't know my name-"
"Yet." Maya interrupted her, knowing just how serious a lack of trust can be in a firehouse. She was also upset on a personal level. Andy had been her friend. The reason for the meeting was work related, but as what she thought was her best friend, it felt personal. "We don't just not know your name. We don't know who you are. Why are you hiding behind a fake name?"
"You're the goddamn captain, Maya. You have access to my records. If you care that much, why didn't you just look. I changed my name, I didn't make up my past." While Maya had considered it, she'd prefer Andy told her herself, which was possibly the only way the broken trust between them could be repaired.
"Your professional past doesn't tell me who you are. I'm giving you the chance to tell me now."
"What do you think I committed some hanous crime. That I'm a government spy? I live with you guys three times a week."
"You lie to us about who you are three times a week." Andy was about to walk away but something stopped her. These were her teammates. Her friends. If she didn't tell them, there was no chance of being trusted again. Besides, she couldn't ignore the past anymore. Especially not when It was coming to Seattle so soon. With a deep inhale, she walked all the way back into the beanery and gripped the edge of the counter glancing over everyones faces. They'd never looked at her this way before; Like she betrayed them.
