The one where it starts at the beginning
8:35 am
Oikawa began banging his head on the desktop, yelling "WHY" BANG. "CAN'T" BANG. "I" BANG. "UNDER" BANG. "STAND" BANG. "BASIC" BANG. "MATHS!?" BANG. The other kids in the front row looked at Oikawa funny while others giggled.
"Maybe if you hit your head on the desk hard enough, it'll finally knock some sense into you." Iwaizumi explained sarcastically and went back to reading his book, 'Kokoro'.
Sitting on Iwaizumi's right was Kunimi and a friend of his, which Iwa couldn't remember the name of. He scoffed as he saw them looming over a magazine together. Probably one of those, what'd Kunimi like calling them? "Titty books".
To Iwa's surprise, Kindaichi stood up quickly, snatching Kunimi's book away, and tossed it; perfectly in the trash from the front of the room. He yelled "Can you all just be quiet," as he slumped back down in his chair. "Oikawas not the only one trying to finish his homework."
"Yeah," Kunimi's friend grinned. "The homework we were supposed to turn in yesterday?" Kindaichi just growled and stared at his paper. Once everyone thought the classes had settled down, he piped back up. "She really just going to give us homework with four pages and eight questions on each page? And then expect us to turn it in the day after?"
"YES," the majority of the classes responded in unison as if rehearsed. This made Iwa snicker and Kindaichi seethed, finally quieting down.
Iwaizumi started to ponder whether he should scold Oikawa for not finishing the homework on time or if he should make an effort to help him when a classmate in Oikawa's row said "At least you're on the third page, Kindaichi-san." She leaned over her friend's desk to look at Oikawa's, whose head was currently down. "Baka-kawa over here is still on the ninth question!"
You could feel the room's temperature drop down and get colder the second she finished her sentence. It got so quiet, the kids could hear the light chatter from the other classrooms.
As if on cue, Oikawa slowly stood up and sauntered his way over to the girl's desk, until he stood in front of her. He loomed over her and said quietly "If you're so damn smart-" He immediately stopped when he heard the door open and made his way back to his seat. He kept looking over and glaring at her. She wouldn't even look back in his direction.
When the class regained their bearings, they stood up, said their good morning, and sat back down. Oikawa rested his head on the desk, not caring if he got in trouble now. Before starting her lesson, Mrs. Blah blah blah gave them a smile and shivered. "Aren't you guys cold? It's kind of chilly in here, isn't it?" Oikawa shot one last glare at the girl and started dozing off.
A different girl added solemnly "I heard it's supposed to rain and thunderstorm today, too. I didn't even bring an umbrella!" Multiple groans and complaints about being umbrella-less filled the classroom, making Mrs. Bum dee dum irked.
"Now," she turned to face the class. "I'm sure by the time it starts raining, you'll all be home by then. It's supposed to rain later in the evening." Mrs. Diddly dee turned back to the board and began writing the math lesson down when she saw a hand raised in her peripheral vision. Trying not to show her irritation, she talked to the board and continued writing. "Is there something you need?" She asked too nicely.
"No," it was Iwaizumi who had raised his hand. He stood up and continued. "Mrs. Fill in the blank, you said there would be an after school tutoring for kids who wanted more help. You scheduled with our class today, right?"
Hearing this, Oikawa perked up. Keeping his head on his desk, he folding his arms under his chin and looked up tiredly. The entire time, when the class had been talking of rain and such, Oikawa's head had been down on his desk and up in the clouds.
An after school lesson? Why hadn't he heard of this until just now? Only then did he realize that he was probably sleeping during that lesson too when it was mentioned.
He gave a light laugh at the irony of it, which made Mrs. Whats her bucket look towards him. "Oikawa, why-" she stopped and furrowed her brow before walking up to his desk. Since he was in the front row it was only five steps to reach him. Looking concerned, the teacher said, rather loudly "What is wrong with your face?"
The class rocked with laughter much to Oikawa's annoyance and embarrassment. He hunkered down and looked at his shoes. While his face continued to glow various shades of red, Mrs. So and So, still concerned and unaware of her bad wording, held a hand to his forehead. "Are you sick? Do you need to go home today?"
"Ah, no." Oikawa leaned away from her. Some giggles here and there. All the while with no composure, Oikawa tried to think of a way to explain how he had, what he could assume, a bruise in the middle of his forehead. He tried pushing his bangs down to cover them up, but his stupid perfectly styled hair didn't want to stay down. "I urm...fell."
She gave him and her class a funny look. Kindaichi actually had tears in his eyes from the teacher's previous statement. "I'm fine though, really." he tried to console. "Just a bump." And he gave her his best charming smile to prove his point. Really though, he wanted so badly to throw the desks at his peers and leave.
Mrs. Hum dee dum clapped her hands together and announced that there'd be no more talk of rain and no more falling down. She finally turned back to the board, beginning her lesson, and started writing math stuff on it, little of which Oikawa could comprehend as his eyes started drooping.
He let out a small light, airy sigh, and gave in to his tiredness, taking a nap for the rest of the class. He could only hope the teacher wouldn't nab him.
"Maybe," he thought ruefully, "Iwa-Chan will help me study after school today. . . "
