Dio knew just how much you meant to Jonathan, but he also knew that his rival of a stepbrother had your heart fully. Never one for respect, he was determined to break your good friend to pieces by all means. Whether it was by talking about Jonathan behind his own back to slander him, stealing his friends, or stealing his biological father's love, Dio would give any attempt to ruin him.

You knew better than to fall for Dio's scandals. You and Jonathan had been childhood friends, and after hearing about the tragic loss he suffered after Dio had abused and treacherously killed Danny, you knew to keep out of his way and never get involved.

It was a warm summer day in early July and Jonathan had invited you over after Dio had beaten him in a boxing match. He looked exhausted and had slight bruises blossoming across his cheek.

"Jonathan, did he do that to you?" You inquired, soft hands reaching to cradle his face.

"Don't worry about me, I'll recover. But please, for my sake, please, never let Dio near you. If he tried anything on you, I'd never forgive myself." His pleading eyes met your (e/c) orbs and you sighed aloud.

"At least let me treat your wounds. You've got a few scratches that could use some treatment."

Jonathan's attempts to assure you he was fine wouldn't work anymore, as you intertwined your hand with his own and began to lead him back to the Joestar mansion where you'd patch him up.

Upon entering, you and Jonathan deemed it safe enough since Dio's presence wasn't detectable. The few people who were around were George Joestar and the occasional maid or butler. Dragging Jonathan, you led him into the large bathroom and began ransacking the cabinets for gauze, band-aids, and ointments. Jonathan simply sat on the toilet with the lid down, watching you run around like a scatterbrain, collecting a variety of different medical treatments.

"Sometimes I wish Dio was never taken in by my father. Is that too harsh?" Jonathan seemed upset with his internal thoughts, but you sympathized with him. Life had been nothing but cruel with him around, and it certainly seemed useless to try to bond with the blonde either.

"Jonathan, I understand what your going through with him. But maybe once you grow older, he'll change. I believe even Dio has some good in his heart." You tried to keep the blue haired teenager from getting too lost in his negative thoughts.

"(Y/N), thank you. I wish there were more good people like you in this world."

You shot him a soft smile as you grazed your hand barely by his cheek, peeking at the small bruise that had began to turn purple. "Jonathan, you know I'm not perfect. No one is. But we should try to be the best we can be. Even to those who spite us."

He nodded in agreement, getting up and towering over you, arms out, inviting you for a hug. Despite being only 15, Jonathan was extremely tall for his age. He definitely took after his father. You took his offering and felt him wrap tightly around you, resting his chin on the crown of your head, muttering another quiet thank you.

As if sensing the small "teen moment", Dio burst through the once-closed door and stared daggers at you both.

"D-Dio," Jonathan staggered, pulling away from the hug. You returned the annoyed look to the blonde, unamused by his rambunctious entrance.

"Do you need something, Dio?" Your voice was laced with faux-sweetness, trying your best not to further piss off the already-peeved boy. Jonathan gave you a nervous glance, obviously uncomfortable by this sudden behavioral change and heavy tension.

"Why are you here, (Y/n)." He practically seethed, amber eyes meeting yours, burning through your soul.

"Well, I was helping to treat the wounds you gave your own brother," You turned your nose up to him, crossing your arms over your chest in disgust.
