Departure

   It was a really hot morning, surrounded by loud crowds of people, with hardly any room to move. Earlier this morning my mum and my brothers decided that we should go on a little trip. Trust me, I for one was definitely the least excited out of the bunch. Just imagine having plans to do nothing, and it's suddenly ruined by an unexpected cruise. I was really annoyed by this. "Scott!, hurry along now. Don't want to get left by the ship now do we", my mother said to me. " Alright, I'm getting a move on... No need to yell. "I said a bit annoyed. This is going to be a long day, was all that was in my mind. Some time had passed as we did all the things we needed to do before getting on board. " Last call for passengers before departure! ", yelled the captain from the balcony of the ship. At this time we were already waiting in our rooms. My brothers were being loud and obnoxious, while my mum was doing mother stuff. I silently watched from the window as the ship door was finally closing. Shortly after, the PA system chimed. " We are officially taking off, please enjoy the ride ", one of the staff said. " Mum", I called out while still looking through the window. "Yes dear? ", she answered. " How long is the cruise... ", I replied bluntly. My mum knew I wasn't excited at all. She sat beside me on the bed I was sitting on, and placed her hand on my shoulder. " Listen, I know your not excited to be here. But a young lad like you shouldn't be moping around all day. There are plenty of young ladies aboard. Go out and chat with them.", she finally said with a bittersweet smile. I was a bit shocked that she wanted me to go flirt. "Mum! ", I said in a hushed tone while blushing. " You can't just involuntarily take someone out there bed, and bring them to a cruise to go flirt with people. "I said. Indeed I was very embarrassed by my mother's advice for me to get happy. " Well then I won't allow you to stay in the room all day", she said while pulling my arm. " I'm not a reckless mother, why would I take two sons and leave the other!", she slightly yelled. She dragged me to the door, opened it and pushed me  out. "Shoo, and don't come back till I send for you", she said before she closed the door in my face. Ughhh, who does that, I said to myself. I was mad at this point. "I don't want to be here, and now I get kicked out the room just to go socialise with these random people. This all sucks, all I wanted to do was stay home and sleep. That's all just sleep. " I said not realizing I was speaking aloud. "Hah, he's talking to his self. Can't believe I almost thought he was cute. " This random girl said while passing me in the hall with her friends. "Great move Scott, now the ladies think I'm crazy.... really nice", I said with a sigh. Since there isn't much to do, why not explore the ship a little. I decided to go up to the balcony. I breathed in the fresh sea breeze as I finally reached the upper deck. " It's better than being trapped in that room with that annoying family of mine ", I said  with a eye roll. I rested my arms on the balcony rim, while watching the birds fly so freely in the sky. It would be great to be a bird right about now, I thought to myself. " Ah, you lucky little things... Getting to fly whenever you want. "I said aloud. I honestly didn't care if people looked at me strange. All I wanted at the moment was to be free, I just wanted to dissapear from reality for once. Even if it meant becoming a bird.
