Piper walked into the bar, her night vision kicking in from how dim the room was. Several chairs were set up into rows in front of a wide sheet, a makeshift screen for the projector to play the movie. She scanned the room, twitching her antenna. Piper spotted Fin first. The average height white cat with extra lobster arms, tail and antenna was laughing with Benjamin, a brown bear with small horns and spikes and two bat like wings, he was a good friend but not apart of the gang. Up in the top row, Zach, a brown dragon with a fluffy mane, was sitting with Xavier, a gray husky who tonight was wearing his favorite ballcap.
-That makes Paradise and Ethan the only ones whos late..- Piper thought walking over to Fin. Fin looked up an amused grin on his face.
"About TIME you showed up. What'd you do? Stop to steal something without us?" He said sarcastically and then laughed at the amusement on Piper's face.
"Hmm I could have. Not like I need your small brain." Piper retorted, waving at Benjamin.
"AS IF!" Fin exclaimed standing up. Piper laughed and they both huddled on over to Zach and Xavier.
"Hey dudes," Piper smiled. "You ready?"
"For the movie? Hell yeah." Zach replied, returning a small grin.
"Where's Ethan? And Paradise?" Xavier asked looking up at Piper.
"Being SL-" Piper started but was cut off.
"I'm right here dummies." Said a voice behind them. Piper turned around and Paradise stood there with a disappointed expression. "Ethan was behind me but I'm not really sure where we went." Paradise was a sort of skull dog, she was tall with a pale yellowish-creamish sort of fur, her claws were blue with an orange ring at the start of her wrist, the end of her long, fluffy tail faded into a pretty orange. Paradise's front wrists and the start of her tail was wrapped in bandages. Nobody really knew why she did and Paradise never liked talking about it either. Paradise wore a long, green trench coat with yellow buttons and baggy jeans. Paradise was friendly and liked to talk but she got annoyed pretty easily and intimidates Zach and Ethan sometimes. Paradise flicked one of her long ears. "He probably ran off to go and try to bribe the bartender into giving him a shot..." She said glancing over at the bar counter.
Sure enough Ethan stood there leaning over the counter. Ethan was a tall, bulky blue-gray Comodo dragon, he often wore a mask of some sort, his favorite being a ram skull, which is what he was wearing tonight. Ethan had a long tail and he wore a black leather jacket with a design of three pink scratch makes with bright blood leaking from them on the back, his pants were navy blue jeans and blue tennis shoes.
Piper walked over with her talons in her hoodie pockets, swishing her tail, giving Ethan and the bartender an amused grin.
"Come onnn!" Ethan whined to the bartender holding out two twenty dollar bills. "Pleaaaaseeee Cheyanne." Cheyanne, a short hair ginger cat with bright yellow eyes and wearing the bar uniform, sighed and bared her teeth at Ethan.
"NO Ethan. I got in trouble last time I gave you a shot...Quit asking your underage anyway." Cheyanne said turning her back to them. Cheyanne was a feisty but the sweetest bartender and normally caved in easily but she was right, Ethan shouldn't have alcohol.
Piper snatched the forty dollars from Ethan's claws. "Ethan, she's right. You don't need any shots now lets go everyone is waiting on you." Piper said, giving Ethan a firm serious stare.
Ethan opened his mouth and closed it again knowing Piper was being serious and giving a command not an option. Ethan sighed heavily and then followed Piper back to the rest of the gang. Zach stood up and punched his shoulder.
"Hey slowpoke what took you so long?" Zach smiled. Ethan laughed and punched him back. Paradise rolled her eyes at them and Xavier stood up, wagging his tail slightly. Fin flicked his ear and turned to Piper.
"You taking requests tonight?" He asked glancing around at the other people sitting down, sorting out who could be possibly wanting something... valuable. Piper giggled at Fin,
"AM I? Of COURSE!" Piper said, "Who should I go to first?"
"Hmmm," Fin wondered twitching his antenna. "That guy." Fin said pointing to a pale lavender baseball cat. The baseball cat wore a scarf which covered their mouth and the back of their ear was bleeding from a small scratch. Piper tilted her head flashing a few of her light up scales.
"The tennis ball? Really?" Piper asked. "They look like a RULE follower to me." She glared at the tennis cat and then at Fin.
"Yes, trust me. She could have something that she'll pay us good money for, you never know." Fin replied looking confident in his decision.
"And if she turns me into the police?" Piper said, raising an eyebrow. Fin sighed, putting his paw on Piper's shoulder.
"Piper, how many times do we have to have this conservation?" He said. Piper smirked, amused. "You KNOW we won't let that happen." This statement never made Piper feel too much better but she did trust her gang, so she did believe it. Piper took in a deep breath and walked over to the tennis ball cat. She looked up and glared.
"Can I help you, lizard?"
"No, I want to help YOU." Piper smiled down at her. The tennis cat looked Piper up and down in doubt and suspicion.
"How? How can you help me?" She looked back at the projector obviously unhappy. Piper sat down next to her.
"My names Piper, I run a business where I steal things requested by someone every movie night. I would like to know your request. Only catch is, once we have it you give us cash in return... alright?" Piper explained, getting more and more nervous with each word. The tennis ball was quiet for a moment and then she looked at Piper.
"Alright... I'm Yan.. and there's this jewel in the museum.. that's always caught my eye.. I could pay you 5k for it?" She said being hesitant.
"Hmmm... no... I need enough cash to split fairly among my gang." Piper said.
"Fine, 12k?" Yan asked with an annoyed sigh.
"Perfect." Piper said, tapping her knee thoughtfully, "Now what does this jewel look like?"
"It's a sapphire, a beautiful blue sapphire, its rumored to have great power... you'll probably be able to tell when you see it." Yan explained making a hawk sort of figure with her paws. "Its also rumored to be cursed but who knows."
"Hmm. Thanks Yan. I'll have it by... Monday possibly. See ya thennn," Piper smirked ruffling Yan's head fur and walking back over to the gang who wanted to know all about it. Piper held out her talons shushing them.
"Anybody know when the museum closes? There's something I want to.. look at..." Piper asked, walking out the door with her gang who was extra hyped to know what it was they were getting THIS time..
