May's P.O.V

I sing along to Aidan playing the guitar. I smile slightly as I sing the familiar lyrics:

Oh, misty eye of the mountain below
Keep careful watch of my brothers' souls
And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke
Keep watching over Durin's sons

If this is to end in fire
Then we should all burn together
Watch the flames climb high into the night

Aidan finishes of the song and looks up at me.

"Wow" we both say staring wide eyed at each other.

"Your voice." He says.

"Your playing" I say.

We smile and he puts the guitar back on its stand and walks over. He grabs my hand and together we walk out of the door and back through to my room.

"Your voice is amazing." Aidan says.

I blush.

"Thanks. You're amazing at playing the guitar."

A light pink dusts his cheeks. "Thanks" he mutters.

"Want to grab some food?" I ask. he nods and we head towards the kitchen. When we arrive in the kitchen I see my mum in there.

"Hey mum." I say.

"May sweet heart. Wait who is this?" She asks.

"Mum this is my mate Aidan, Aidan this is my mum Bella."

"Did you say mate? How could you not have told me!" She says sounding hurt.

"No mum it's not like that. I only met him yesterday at the party. And I haven't really seen you since the day before the party." I say soothingly.

"Oh. It's alright then dear. I'm sorry you haven't seen me. I was out visiting Carren from school days then stayed out of the way of the party. You know me." She tells me, looking happy again.

"I'm sure dad would have liked you to walk around with him." I tell her.

"Oh wait. Let me guess. He have Aidan here "the talk" and freaked him out." She says, raising an eyebrow.

"Bang on the money as usual mum. Let's just say after 'the talk' I gave him 'the look.'" I say. It sounds confusing but mum knows exactly what I mean.
"That's my girl. You guys feel like some food. I've been cooking some Mac n Cheese." She says, gesturing to the Mac n Cheese on the stove top.

"Yes please" Aidan and I say at the same time.
