The first weird thing happened during breakfast.
Actually, I don't think it's your normal kind of breakfast. The more accurate term would be, "grab something edible and go". So, there I was that day dragging the garbage to the street and throwing it into the dumpster. Throw garbage, check. I grabbed a plate of bacon from the table and fed it to the dog. Which has a name, Harry Junior. Disgusting, right? Feed the dog, check.
I then grabbed my bag and stuffed different kinds of food that I might need later. Ev tapped me on the back and handed me a chewed up letter with shoe marks.
"Found that by the door, the dog chewed a part of it and Harvey stepped on a part of it. But its yours, I think", Ev then strolled to the living room area and fussed over Harvey.
Thanks, i guess? I examined the envelope which looks damaged but still readable. Hmm, there's a name! It's says, "Francke Collins". We have the same last name, who could this be?
I slipped the envelope between the pages of my notebook, stuffed the notebook inside my bag and ran outside. I raised my watch to my face. Yes! I still got an hour before school starts. I then headed to the park and plopped down on one of their swings. Privacy at last!
I opened the envelope and took out an old looking letter. I read it starting from top to bottom. Then I reread it again, trying to understand everything that it said. Dread and excitement bubbled inside me. Until I jumped out of my seat and jumped around the park, clutching the letter to my chest. Still not believing I reread it again and again until it seems as if I memorized it.
Who knew I had an uncle, right? That's just so WEIRD!
